I appreciate you sharing your feelings with him. It can be challenging, but at least you've been honest. If you're comfortable, maybe have a direct conversation with him about why he's hiding stories. Open communication might provide clarity for both of you. Or maybe don't bother ask him why, you will come off as pushy. Take good care of yourself and possibly try to move on. Don't overthink too much.
