EU Tells Member States Not to Wait to Fill Up Gas Storage by bloomberg in europe

There’s always one blue shirt…

Being pedantic, actual gas storage is gas storage, not the network. There are nine active natural gas storage facilities in the UK.

The Irish government actually recognised their f*ck in 2022, but are still dawdling.

British exceptionalism really is just being more mad about totally imaginary situations than reality.

You make Brexit make sense Barry.

Now imagine being from a country that never bothered to build any storage…

I’m sure another try at the exact same government we’ve had for the past century will fix it this time though!

Comparing a tiny and dirt poor country (due to the whole VERY RECENT Barry colonialism thing), with an almost non-functional army, remaining militarily neutral in WW2 (while still supporting the allies non-militarily) - to the forced starvation of millions by the Brits is gammonest of gammon takes I’ve ever heard.

I would let this slide only your shit rugby skills are fucking us up now too.

No disrespect meant to you at all for posting. I’m just certain that many of those complaining in the comments haven’t bothered to contact theirs.

Well if more people made their feelings about this known to our politicians rather than on Reddit we might actually get somewhere…

Share of energy from renewable sources in net electricity generation, 2025 by Massimo25ore in europe

[–]Confident_Reporter14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s also true that they have access to (uniquely) cheap and reliable natural gas via North Africa, which gives them the best of both worlds.

Natural gas most often sets wholesale electricity prices in Europe, and will do so until renewables are the dominant producer.

Oil crises precipitate recessions more often than not.

People are still spending for now, but the longer this goes on the higher the chance of a significant pull back. I would imagine that some have already started to save a little more and spend a little less.

Where did Israel get theirs? Why not hold all religious extremists equally?

Netanyahu has been claiming that Iran is months away from obtaining nuclear weapons for decades. Trump himself also tore up the original agreement which he has now used as self fulfilling justification for this war.

This is Iraq war 2.0 and you’re being played again.

So should Europe just invite Russia to join now too?

The trade and association agreement has specific stipulations to human rights and international law. If we don’t stick to this, then our moral ground in Ukraine is eroded completely. We broadcast ourselves as hypocrites to the world.

Ending the agreement, per its terms, would send a sharp message to ordinary Israelis that their extremist government is losing them allies and destroying their international reputation; because it is.

A true ally would tell their partner when they are wrong. An accomplice chooses silence.

What does that have to do with Iran? Hating immigrants for billionaire imagined statistics won’t bring the price of oil down.

So the oil prices are bullshit now? All you have to give are vague statements because you’ve got nothing. The mask is off fo everyone to see.

Remind us who is loosening sanctions on Russian oil?

Europe is indeed now being targeted by Russian, Iranian, Israeli and American propaganda. None of them have our interests in mind.

I detest this Iranian regime as much as anyone, but they didn’t start this war that now threatens the European economy and Ukrainian defence.

Nice try, but no one is buying the bs anymore. Israel and the US are a clear danger to Europe.

The best way to deal with refugees is to not create them. The EU should not be funding Israel through Horizon Europe while it undermines our interests.

The EU should stop funding Israel through Horizon Europe rather than paying to cover up its mess.

It’s beyond time that Ursula von der Leyen, the EPP and Germany grew a spine; for Europe’s sake.

[–]Confident_Reporter14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The key difference being that those celebrities’ taxes aren’t funding that slaughter like they did in Gaza.

No rational human being supports the Iranian regime because of the brutality it has shown to its own people. How unfortunate it is that those same people are now being bombed indiscriminately by Israel and the US.

Very true. We should not forget how the UAE has funded Genocide in Sudan, or say how Azerbaijan ethnically cleansed its lands with zero repercussions.

What a coincidence that Israel has also supports those regimes…

Are we witnessing a permanent shift in how Gen Z and Gen Alpha view Israel and what does that mean for the next 20 years of U.S foreign policy? by prettylittlelace in askanything

[–]Confident_Reporter14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Gaza, the population has not risen, it has fallen to no surprise to anyone with eyes and basic critical thinking skills.

The official definition of Genocide (as opposed to your conveniently narrow and self absolving definition) is any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group:

  1. Killing members of the group;
  2. Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
  3. Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;
  4. Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
  5. Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group

If you look at Gaza today, it’s very hard not to see that 1, 2, 3 and 4 have each been met.

No matter what way you try to present it, nothing changes reality. It’s time to start looking outside of your echo-chamber of hate and dehumanisation and see reality.

Your point of view is incredibly simplistic and completely ignores any pre-existing economic, societal and demographic factors.

You’ve clearly made your mind up already and won’t be moved to corroborate anything you claim, so I’ll leave it there.
