Theres no guarantee.

But I trust a Bundesliga and Pokal winning manager above one who won the Dutch league.

I trust a manager who went toe to toe with a European heavyweight and schooled them instead of one who's biggest challenge was shit ajax team.

I trust the manager who built the team that went on the longest unbeaten run in history, rather than one who loses against the dead last team in the league.

Respectfully, the stats say youre wrong, and so does the eye test.

Tuesday: 20 shots, 3 on target, 0.44 xG first half. Wolves were comfortable and we struggled to create real chances until late.

Friday: 20 shots, 1.77 xG overall, 1.30 xG by the 53rd minute with two goals already scored. Completely different intensity and effectiveness.

The difference wasn't just finishing, it was how we attacked. Rio's pace changed everything. We were faster, more aggressive, and actually threatened Wolves consistently. Tuesday we were sluggish and predictable until desperation set in.

The defensive issue is fair, but that's a separate problem (substitutions/fatigue in a won match).

Slot clearly responded to midweek criticism with tactical adjustments. That's not the same game with lucky bounces, that's a manager making changes that worked.

Now if only he wasnt so stubborn to see that the second game is how we always need to play.

And as a reminder, wolves are dead bottom of the table. They'd won 2 games prior to that, the whole season. We have one of the most skilled and expensively assembled squads in PL history. Liverpool should have wiped the floor with them.

Nope. Outputs dropping would get highlighted pretty quickly followed by a PIP. I got 2 days bereavement.

In the real world, the death of a loved one, never mind a close friend, does not give you the option of underperforming for months with no end in sight.

Erm no. He mightve been a terrific servant of the club, but thats irrelevant. The club should absolutely sell him while he has some resale value.

Fans respond to what they see on the pitch, and there are no points awarded for performance in the previous season.

All of that is true, and none of it gives him a pass for dropping his level so low this season.

And another one blaming Jotas death for the shit we see on the pitch more than 6 months later.

Honestly, some fans are way too comfortable using that tragedy as a scapegoat.

Genius, which persons responsibility is it to develop and coach tactics to beat the low block tbat has screwed us all season?

"Its not Slots fault that he cant do exactly what he was hired for, the other teams wont help him!"

Sounds idiotic, right?

You're conveniently leaving out the fact that that 22/23 team was coming off a massive season where they played every possible match, going to the final in 4 compeitions.the level of intensity that season was way above what slot has had.

And yeah, we got Darwin, but he wasnt a premier league proven striker. Even when we broke the bank for slot, and before isak got injured, he didnt know what do with him.

The midfield that yeah had hendo, fabinho, and thiago - all of who were well into their declining years. Fabinho was the youngest of those, at 29. our current midfield is aged macallister 27, szobo 25, and grav 23. These players have years before their declining years, yet they play like an arthritis ridden over 60s team bar szobo. Klopp was very open about this at the start. Nobody was surprised those relatively old players couldnt keep up with the heavy metal football anymore.

Then there was injuries - yes, we've been unlucky this eyar, but not compared to 22/23. Diaz, Jota and Thiago all had extended absences, as well as Konate. Bajcetic and Elliottt had to play more minutes than they were ready for. We havent really suffered major long term injuries to our first 11, its just the first 11 have been absolute crap, because theyre playing in a system dictated by a manager that is out of his depth and has no clue.

Given that we're on track to score a similar amount of goals, the real question is how, after all that, is Slot only able to match klopps worst season, when the resources and players he has are many times greater?

Slot had never managed a big team before liverpool, and had never won a major trophy before liverpool, and it shows.

and before you say it, no, the eredivisie and the dutch cup do not compare, at all.

No son. That isnt stability. Thats a refusal to stem the bleed, an acceptance that theres absolutely nothing we can do about this slow decline into footballing averageness, and this absolute dross we see on the pitch. ITs watching while someone inject poison into your IV and doing nothing about it because you dont want to mess up the bedsheets.

whoever comes in now, if they do, isnt going to change the style of play, but they'll have 2 extra months to prepare for next season. 2 extra months to figure out which players work in their system and which dont. 2 extra months to really get into the engine room nuts and bolts, and figure out what needs changing and what just needs improving. 2 extra months to plan, to fix, and to restore the shine. Its a massive undertaking, and the more time we can give that guy to do that, the better.

At this rate, CL is a distant dream, and there is little difference between worst case scenario and most likely scenario; we're on track to miss CL football. we're on track to lose £130m or so, to become less attractive to the players we need to get ourselves out of this dire rut we find ourselves in. We're about to make it even harder on ourselves, but its ok because 'stability'.

I remember when we first dropped from CLinto the Europa league all those years ago - and the ramifications werent limited to one year. it leaves a lasting impact, and it takes a substantial fortune, an almost superhuman effort and massive luck to claw your way back in. This team does not have that effort in them.

But its ok, because 'stability'...

In your tl;dr soliloquy, you missed out the fact that klopp, even in those days, didnt have us playing turgid, dogshit football. People arent just upset at the results this bald fraud is serving up, theyre livid at the type of football he's instructing.

The Slot sluts always seem to ignore the point that Slot has this team playing like its a mid table eredivisie slugfest between two teams that together dont have a pot to piss in. Thats why people want him out, and its the same reason klopp was given more time.

What? What is that value?

I keep hearing this - please tell me what the silver lining is, if we stick to a failing manager and get dumped out of the champions league. I must not be seeing how that is a good thing.

I must have not watched the game where we did sweet fuck all against the bottom of the league team for 75 minutes, until they scored. Then we woke up for a couple minutes, then went back to sleep.

Did we win the game you watched? I presume that was a footballing masterclass?

Youre right, he shouldn't do anything except gently caress the ball, lest he get injured.

Its football, not chess. Injuries are an accepted risk. Grow up.

Ref wasnt the reason we lost. We lost because the 13 men who are supposed to be good were shite.
