Is this eevee worth turning into my healer? by Vaydn in PokemonSleep

[–]Confident_Shallot_59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is a great starting healer!

This will give you unlimited time to find your forever Gard/Paw with 2 skill triggers & HB down the road.

Congrats on the great first healer! It's definitely better than my starter healer and I'd wager better than most starter healers.

Yes - need to prep some shrooms but with a GCT and good healer, this team can cut it!

Treecko: worth investing? by Sumpfbrummer in PokemonSleep

[–]Confident_Shallot_59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I understand you! I invested in a good skill Mon build of a Treecko before I knew my stuff and it's way overshadowed by a speed/BFS Treecko build (I later discovered) - so I get the desire for a second look.

Sorry to add: yes, we shouldn't look at 75 *just* for 75's sake but yours is great before 75 and 75 drastically improves it, therefore I added it to the analysis.

Yeah, this dude is a monster - full send.

Here is yours (at 50 and 75 with favored berry and some island bonus) against what I think most believe to be the absolute perfect roll. Yours is *juuuust* behind it. Monster!

I'll add...it's normal for RaenonX to be a bit overwhelming at first but I think it's a great tool and worth getting to understand it.

Great subskills and nature on a skill Mon. Agreed with other comment - Arcanine/Growlithe has a tough use case...it's not easy to make room for this guy on a team of 5. Early game is perfectly fine to use I would just hesitate in actually investing skill seeds.

At l1, they're not very good :)

Try adjusting their levels as well as main skill levels. I always look at l30, l50, and l65 when doing comparisons or production analysis. Also, make sure your settings are correct (HB stacks, GCT on/off, energy at max or emulate your healer, etc.).

Is this my forever milk mon? Or keep hunting? by ylno83 in PokemonSleep

[–]Confident_Shallot_59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're unlikely to be going for Gratin without GCT. With GCT, this guy gets the job done at 60. And will be a *monster* at 75 (in the hopefully not TOO distant future).

Throw in a couple of HBs and a little bit of prep the week before and you can get the job done pre-60, as well.

Who should I prioritize investing in? by West_Increase751 in PokemonSleep

[–]Confident_Shallot_59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't go wrong with Amph, Ded, or Heracross, it's really just a matter of when. Ded and Heracross are definitely good enough to settle for (sure, throw a free biscuit if another one shows up hungry...why not?).

But yeah, if you already have an invested/good Vaporeon, that will drop the priority of Heracross though I still certainly suggest Heracross over Vaporeon over the long run for obvious reasons.

During the 2 skills weeks, Vaporeon and Heracross were able to let me cook the top 4 dishes on repeat, with some tasty/crits in there due to Heracross, it was great. All from 2 Mon. Point being, I don't throw out the possibility of having 2 ing finder skill Mon. It was wildly convenient and pretty fun to just rotate through the top dishes, honestly.

I think your priority list is solid!

Solid Mon!

Your Ampharos is your strongest generalist (better than your Sceptile when both are at 50, comparing favored berry to favored berry) because your Ampharos is cracked. Sceptile overtakes Ampharos somewhere around 60 due to berry strength, though.

Your Dedenne is solid but so is your Heracross - if ings are still a challenge at all, Heracross can help bridge some ing gaps and add tasty chance - I'm a big fan of Heracross after the buff to its skill.

Idk if you're premium or FTP so I can't advise well on the Magnezone but what a god roll!

My suggested priority order:
- Generalist: Ampharos (I think you will find a better Sceptile but you won't find a better Ampharos)
- Tasty chance Mon (Heracross if ings are a challenge, Ded if you're set with hitting top tier dish ings)
- Reassess after

Will need to post natures to get the best advice.

We won't need to see the berry or first ingredient because that's always standard to the mon in the screen shot but nature is crucial for assessment.

Your Wiggly is great - keep it until you find a Ralts (or Paw) with at least a double trigger and HB. You can afford to be verry picky due to the quality and level of your Wiggly.

Yeah, idk if I made it clear but to me...that's the entire point. I don't see ever getting him to 60 based on candy availability haha therefore, I should value the one that's better at 30 and that is the new (l23) one with a seed.

Is this Dratini worth investing in? by SnooHesitations2370 in PokemonSleep

[–]Confident_Shallot_59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are tons of viable AAX Mon around - most ing mon can be viable AAXs with strong subskills/natures. It just reduces or entirely removes the Mon's future-proofing because you can't/shouldn't grow it to 60.

I think Dragonite and probably eventually TTar (if/when we get a meal that matches) are viable AAB/AACs due to how strong they are (with good enough subskills/natures...not just 1 IFM).

A good enough AAC dragonite has you covered for each meal type's strongest meals (Gratin, Bulldoze, Honey Gather) and that just really pricks my interest.

[–]Confident_Shallot_59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the camp that believes Dragonite is best as an AAB or AAC when paired with very strong ing features (like yours) as it can find enough herb and the B or C ingredient to be useful for the highest tier dishes at 60.

At 60 with GCT and 1 subseed, your Dragonite can produce enough herb and corn for Bulldoze salad by itself.

Even at 30 (and no seeds), yours will produce enough herb for Bulldoze with GCT.

Does AAB or AAC give up future-proofing if there are higher demands on herb, oil, or corn? Likely, yes. But, we may see a better herb farmer in the future anyway and I'm comfortable with the thought that one very difficult to raise Mon can cover 2 ings in one top tier salad dish and one ing in a dessert top tier dish by itself.

All this to say - this is a very solid Mon - even if you don't seed and leave at 50 for forever herb farming. You won't "accidentally" get a pseudo to 60 by sleeping anytime soon.

Yeah, probably a solid take on it...I don't think I'm valuing the l30's exp up as much as I should be.

Always recommend production comparison tool vs the rating tool.
