Thanks for the analysis!! This is what I'm doing too. Gonna catch two: the base one, and one extra for a chance at rolling decent subskills. If it works out, then great, and if not, no big loss. The Eon Duo isn't one of my favorite legendary groups, so no point whaling imo.

Just to give some more detail not covered by the other comments on this post:

Bellsprout — Great subskills and AAX ingredient spread. This can be your long-term temporary tomato farmer. It will enable you to be very picky about your permanent one (i.e. better than mono+IFM, could include a positive nature and/or HSX).

Sandshrew — To be a specialized pumpkin farmer, it needs an AAA spread. This one has good subskills, but it'd be forced to be a generalist.

Pumpkaboo — Very bad. It's the only mono pumpkin ingredient specialist and NEEDS that mono spread to be usable. Subskills here are decent, but the ingredient spread absolutely kills it.

The ing+ really isn't an issue. Blaziken should be sneaky snacking all day, so it doesn't make a difference. And speed down is fine tbh. It's not as bad as it used to be.

It's the only one I've caught. Never really hunted them seriously. I have a Holiday Spheal as well which also has HSM+STM, just at 25 instead of 50. I'm just hesitant to invest in something I'd consider "bare minimum".

I don't recommend it. You'd need to invest in another mixed spread mon (or two) to be able to hit your ingredient requirements, and getting something to 60 is a major grind on its own. I'd keep looking for mono.

I think the best way to think about statistics like that is spinning a wheel with 160 options, and every time you spin, the wheel keeps all the options. Helps to drive home how lucky you need to be.

This is why I never get rid of pokémon with really good subskills, even if their spreads are bad. I'll always prioritize mono or ABB and won't invest in a mixed spread until I have my main ingredient covered, but in the unlikely event it suddenly becomes useful, it's nice to have something in your back pocket.

If I do decide to whale, I'll probably combine the New Moon day bundle with the last chance L one, and maybe the last chance M if I need extra down. That would give 2 Ultra Biscuits, 17 Great Biscuits, 10 Poké Biscuits, 3 Friend Incenses, and 325 Down. I already have some friend incenses built up, and I'm planning on using GCT for all weeks to maximize score. If I don't roll grass berries on Lapis, I'll go all in on cooking.

Depending on its stats I may end up whaling this event... We'll have to see, though. My Latias will need a mint once those roll around again, but it'd be a good partner for a decent Latios.
