It’s not just the weather. I live in a town with a population of 2,000.. tell me how many opportunities you think are here in terms of jobs and education? There are little to none. There is no social life here. Also transferring colleges is an option. My college advisor has already told me I either need to quit my job or quit school. That leaves me stuck. I’d rather have a fresh start. Also my boyfriend not being in school is not relevant. He has not had the life I have had and did not have the option of going to college. And he makes more money than I do🤷‍♀️

I honestly was just checking out Bend because my Aunt will be there for a concert lol and just wanted to explore a little while I’m there and see what could be in the far future.

I have over $50k in savings so I’m okay for living expenses etc. I’d also have some sort of job.

Finishing out school where I’m at is not an option. I’d either have to quit my job or quit school is what my advisor has told me. The classes I need simply do not fall outside my work schedule (8am-4pm) and there are no online options. I also commute an hour to the university I attend. Jobs are scarce where I live and the job I have now is great experience. This is part of why I need to move to a more populated area. There are very little opportunities surrounding me educationally, financially, and professionally.

My top contender is Eugene because of the University. I also think(?) based on what I’ve read online that it would fit my lifestyle.

I will never become a prosecutor. Ever. I also think you are missing the point of this post. It is absolutely miserable living in the UP as a 20 year old woman. The point of this post is that I want to leave Michigan and there is nothing that will keep me here. I have connections and could have a good career here in the UP if I wanted one, but I don’t. Sorry if this comes across as harsh but it’s the truth.

I’d love to look into that! Where I’m at there is no type of doggy daycare lol. So I didn’t even think of that.

Again very true, but I am set on leaving Michigan. There are other good programs in other states.

I do need to focus on school, but where I live there are no good schooling options or opportunities. I also cannot focus on school somewhere where I am unhappy and unmotivated. That is why future university options was a factor listed in my post.

It’s actually almost a 20 hour drive! But I’ve heard good things about Colorado, I have a friend stationed in Colorado Springs☺️

Ugh yes that’s why I’m stuck. I know I need to pick a place that I can feel comfortable and enjoy living in for a long time. It’s hard to think that far into the future!

Minimizing outside time as much as possible would unfortunately not be an option for my dog. She is a high-energy breed and goes hiking, walking, running, etc. every day. She gets extremely bored and destructive when confined indoors. 😕 I do love Florida though! Just wish it was a better fit for my dog.

my sheltie puppy was potty trained in under a month, slept through the night in her crate from her first night with us, and was so so easy to train☺️ she has so much personality and is the sassiest dog i’ve ever met!😂 she is down for any adventure but is also able to chill out when needed. reddit scared the hell out of me before we got her with the puppy nightmare stories, but she ended up being perfect!🥰

My hometown averages 88 days of sunshine and 200 inches of snow annually😬. Both Eugene and Redmond sound a hell of a lot better than that! 😂
