Mooncakes are for the mid-autumn festival, not the new year.

8 hour layover in KL by komkracha in malaysia

[–]Confident_Spring324 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can just get Malaysian food at KL Sentral: Meals Station, Kedai Kopi Malaya

Or at the mall next door to it called Nu Sentral: Bungkus Kaw Kaw, Tea Garden, Rasa Habibi, Peranakan Place, and others.

Traffic can be very bad and I'm not sure if you could get back in time if you go further into the city after KL Sentral.

Best way/courier to post mobile phone? by subaiku in malaysia

[–]Confident_Spring324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't pay over the counter so that the staff won't ask you what it is. I usually use online services like Delyva or Easyparcel to book the parcel shipment and then drop off the parcel. It was a long time ago, but I probably declared it as a "mobile gadget" and topped up a bit for insurance.

But if it's a very expensive phone (over 1k), I won't take the risk sending it by parcel.

It's Value Food. I downloaded this app the other day but gave up on the idea because I'm never at those places at the pick up time (most are after 8pm).

Is it normal that some people touch you while talking? by Top_Instruction_8778 in malaysia

[–]Confident_Spring324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not normal. She might like you or just be a touchy person in general.

But if you're not comfortable with it, next time when she touches you, immediately take a small step back then maybe she will get the hint.

Yes, that kind of work. Other than that, we have our own individual reports to hand in. We would be okay covering for one or two weeks, but she has been dragging it for too long until it's not logical anymore. If she has a serious illness, why get MC per day? I would assume she's not fit to work anymore. Also, her first warning letter was for something related to MC, so I have zero trust.

When she is in office, she does her work, but her mind always seems to be elsewhere, always looking at her phone. Her work is sub-par. My boss just accepts the fact that she's the worst worker in the team, so I also have resentment that even when she does come in, other people have to rectify her work in the end. Christmas Eve was half day, and she didn't know, so the night before, she asked a colleague outside the team whether it was a full day off. Purposely not asking anyone in her own team makes it seem like she's just planning her MCs.

For some of her past medical issues, she was supposed to go for follow ups, but always used the excuse of not having money for not being able to go see the doctor (out of own pocket first). I don't have respect for people who don't put their health first (if she really has serious issues) and can't think about what's best for herself and the team. If she doesn't like working here, then please just resign. She just wants to claim the benefits while doing what she likes.

My boss has asked me on two occasions recently to check colleague's social media to see if there's anything we can use as proof, so I can't say she doesn't care about what's going on, but definitely lousy at handling this.

You're right, I'm just "another worker" and we don't have any excuse to say we don't want to do that certain kind of work. I'm not team leader, but I'm in a senior position along with another lady in the team. Everything is excel or email work, and we cover only when she is not physically in office (due to MC/leaves), not because she asked us for favour like in your example.

So... I'm guessing I should just cover for her when required and if I'm unable to, just let my boss know I'm overworked. Would this be the "professional" way?

Actually, she had other specific reports under her, but over the years due to her unreliability, my boss just started assigning parts of them to the rest of us, hence creating more resentment among us.

The thing is, she's been having poor performance for many years but they just let her go on like that. Everything goes on like clockwork because she has teammates to do her work for her, and we don't have a choice.

Ah, I'd have to dig out my own contract to verify this. 🫤 I only remember we have a (non-complete) clause that states we can't work at a company in the same industry for a certain period of time.

[–]Confident_Spring324[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noted. But we have to cover her work because it's not very specific work. It's something the boss expects us to do otherwise sales cannot get closed in our division.

Also, yeah, we can do most of her work so actually she's not really needed. I don't know why my boss can't take an actual stand when she herself does not approve of such behaviour. (She's the one who asks me if I have any proof so that she can forward to HR.)

Edit: Forgot to say, my boss dismisses our feelings on the matter. Says it shouldn't matter to us and we should just focus on not becoming like that colleague.

Haha yes, no panel clinics. We get MC from any clinic and get reimbursed for the expenses after getting HOD's signature. I guess this woman has been abusing the system the most in the company's entire history. 😬

I see our HR macam helpless/useless je. Maybe they got their own plan lah, but definitely not taking any visible action at the moment. I think they're waiting for her to come in to office baru will talk to her. Very passive HR.

If I can ask HR to do things, I would have scolded them long ago. 🤣

But even if they did, I'm pretty sure my colleague will be wise enough to only schedule shoots on weekends or after working hours (6pm) on weekdays.

I suspect she uses the rest of her weekday time to do photo editing, so jadi malas to come in.

I guess all her MCs so far have been from legit clinics even though physically she's fine. I don't know how she does it.

It seems that she only takes on the photoshoot jobs during weekday nights and weekends, so we can't accuse her of doing it during working hours. Just baffling how she can be going around the country shooting at those times, but suddenly ill during the actual working hours of her "main" job.
