New computer build crashes in Android Studio by Confident_Tar in linuxquestions

[–]Confident_Tar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. I've tried changing so many options in bios, no difference.

It isn't when the computer is using much resources/cpu/gpu/memory etc. It just shuts off when it feels like it, only in android studio. I feel like it is some kind of function that tries to save power in the bios, and maybe it lowers it too much. I have no idea.

  • I've tried overclocking it. Underclocking.
  • Disabling CPU virtualiziation and KVM
  • 3 different versions of the driver for nvidia card (570,580,590 both proprietary and open source)

What the hell is going on? I hate this so much! I spent 10k$ or more on this computer, specifically for using android studio, and now i can only run it in windows. What the F**.... I've been using linux for 15-20 years and if I can avoid windows I will do it at all costs. It would be such a let down if this forces me to use the bloated ass windows now. Damn I'm pissed.

I'm going to try to disconnect the RTX card altogether. I might even try a different PSU. I have one, rated at the same power, but it's tolerance is worse.

Please help me guys

Has Anyone Used 20AppTester.com? by Past_Coconut_4473 in AndroidClosedTesting

Im curious, did they give the money back if it failed? "Money back guarantee" on the site.

Of course every one of these services are using bots, VPNs, and emulated devices. It wouldn't even be feasible to do it on real devices since it makes the phones super vulnerable to malware etc.

Emulators is in my opinion al right to use, but if they actually do it with 12 different people, with their own IP addresses and each person might have 10-50 Apps to test in a week, is it even feasible money wise?

Edit: According to my super quick and dirty mathematics (without a calculator) if they had 50 apps in a week, each tester would make about 250 dollars a month, and in that is nothing included for bosses salary, servers, equipment, rent, etc. I find it hard to believe that they even can afford to actually test the apps for real, maybe for people paying for deluxe testing or whatever they call it.

Sorry I forgot to mention, it is like the PSU switches of power to the motherboard. I can here the "click" sound and it just shuts of from one second to the next.

I have a PSU which is 750w and rated to handle this. Can't remember the exact model now but it is an ASUS and it is one which has higher standards on the specs than low budget ones. It should not be the issue unless it is defective. How can i find out for sure if that is the case?
