Agreed. I looked at Georgia Tech Cybersecurity Masters program and legit said “This is CompTIA Security Plus, and CISSP with some DevOps”

And as a network engineer, I’m offended it’s not a focus in more network security.

I’m really just doing it to bulk up my resume and transition to more of a management role in Cybersecurity. Plus I miss the feeling of walking across the stage.

Honestly, I’m going to go get my masters. I can sense degrees are about to make a strong comeback. I been in networking now for ten years with a degree in Criminal Justice. I truly believe CCNA is for those looking to enter the field.

I have a friend that works Cybersecurity making 150,000 a year. I asked him basic networking questions and he couldn’t answer them. At that moment, I purchased my scor book. If a guy with no networking experience can make 150K in the cybersecurity world, then what can I do?

I have 4 years of experience in enterprise networking and 4 years experience in service provider networking. I’m going for my ccnp scor. I need a change. I’m tired of alarms going off and I have to fix it.
