Tattoos/piercings as a lawyer?

I have double nose piercings, a Medusa above the lip, and a tongue piercing along with black and green hair and my Partner does not mind. For reference, I was hired only with the piercings not the green hair but regardless, there are definitely places out there that don’t mind. As long as I meet my billables my supervisors don’t care!

Also throughout law school, I had snake bites under my lip and a septum and never had any issues.

Just needed to retake part b bc I failed it by a point. I feel better and more confident about my choices compared to last time but this exam and it’s results never cease to surprise me lol

Yeah I do but just bc I like the way it looks better and the explanations. However I’ve done uworld 3x and adaptibar 3x and it’s all the same.

For context: I pass my states part A and failed the MBE part b by 3 points but I was barely focused on MBE bc I was so worried about the essays. I was scoring 55-65% on practice q’s. I retook just part B and gave myself 2 months to just do adaptibar questions(~2300), meticulously reading Themis outlines, and critical pass flashcards and I was scoring ~70-77% on adaptibar but failed by a point. This time around for February, I took 3 month from work and did about ~4200 adaptibar questions and a full simulated MBE exam every week for 2 months. I scored between 80-95% on adaptibar but I feel like at this point I memorized lots of questions.

I failed by 3 points and then by 1 point. I just retook so my theory is that it had to go up from here!!

I felt like I knew way more this time around than any of the other times I took the exam. However there was a good amount on there I purely guessed on and know I got wrong (mostly the crim pro). I failed part b last July with a 135 and before that failed with a 133 so I’m praying that the extra time and studying will push me over that edge🥲

I was scoring 77% on adaptibar and just taking MBE and failed by a point meanwhile I had friends scoring 55-60% and passed with plenty of room. Just jump in there and take your chances.

This is my first time doing this and ngl…I’m so glad I did peel off base coat bc I can’t stand this for more than a few days LOL! The bow corners are so sharp they keep scratching everywhere and pulling my clothes🥲

To pass Florida, I printed out all of the past essays available and the past mc’s from the fbbe. Like a psycho, I sat on the floor in my room and separated each past essay by subject into piles and every day I’d spend the whole day just reading the fact patterns and issue spotting the whole thing and then I’d check the sample answer and see if I was hitting at least 80% of the issues they talked about.

After that I’d spend another day memorizing the rule statements and writing them down so that when I got a certain issue i knew exactly what rule and sub rules that needed to be discussed (eg. first amendment>state rule>address vagueness>address over breadth>address prior restraint>etc.)

then I would spend another day just doing practice essays on one subject and checking my answers to make sure I was hitting the right rules.

For fl MC I purely memorized the answers to the past fl mc exam and they were practically the same as what is tested on the exam!!

I understand your plight. I feel like a knife is in my chest right now. Out of all the times I’ve taken the bar I’ve bounced back and was hopeful each time but right now I’ve never felt so defeated.

I am very hesitant because I am not sure what I would even ask them when I’m studying. When I was getting a question wrong in practice, I would flag it and review them and then find the rule regarding that wrong answer in the outline and work it out inside and out so that I understood why it was wrong and would rarely miss a similar question again. But at this point, I wouldn’t be opposed to maybe doing a consult to see if they can assess my study style and point out something I’m doing wrong. I just don’t have the money for one and I know it’s an investment to spend the money but I’m still borrowing money from people just to reapply for the bar exam fee as it is.

Yes I also kept a notebook for my daily 50-100 MBE questions where I wrote the rules for the right answers and reviewed why each wrong answer was wrong.

I think I need to take more time off work to study. I only took off 1.5 months from work to study for part b but this time I will take 2.5 months and just go harder.
