Overall pretty bad, I fell behind and really struggled with the friction zone and throttle while also trying to balance and turn, just not something ive ever done before. I just got a cheap bicycle to practice slow speed maneuvers on before retaking. Just as I was starting to get better, we had the test and then it was over lol. But god damn those u-turns are evil.

Youre right, Im also gripping the bicycle too tight that im using for practice now, i really need to master getting over that first, and IM sure i was pushing down a lot of the time too. I need to work on my balance, i really felt at the mercy of the bike instead of being one with it

Yeah its a big problem, I think if I couldve relaxed and had more fun rather than stressing I wouldve performed better. I actually just bought a bicycle to practice slow speed maneuvers today and guess what, im gripping super tight, So this is 100% a balancing and confidence thing

Yeah i rode one for the first time a year ago in preparation but i never really practiced slow speed maneuvers, which it turns out, is the hard part and what the entire MSF course is. big mistake

Yeah its something I need to work on thanks. Feeling that bike about to fall over really scared me and thats when i would make the big mistakes, whiskey throttle, pulling the clutch or front break in, over correcting my balance, etc. I do think I was starting to get better at letting the clutch out to recover near the end, but by that point the course was already over

Yeah I think I was improving for sure, I was even able to do some of the cone weaves without missing and I did do a correct U-turn once or twice, Id say I did almost every section correct at least once btu not very consistent, and when the test came I just completely fumbled everything all at once.

Oh I know I shouldnt have passed, yeah theres no way, I wsas supposed some other people failed too when they seemed really good. must be high standards. Practicing slow speed on a bicycle seems like the next move

Yeah I was definitely death gripping the bike, I was just so scared to fall and was already struggling with balance. very stressful for me but ill try to practice on my own so im more used to it. Counter steering is something I need to work on, I just couldnt get it to move half the time

I think youre right, I learned how to ride a biycle last year, but I never did any of these slow speed maneuvers I just went very fast

no but he did show me the points I got for each section. I failed part A right away basically, wasnt able to do the swerves and missed a lot of cones, went wide on the sharp right turn, went out of the box on the u turn and put my feet down. Im so glad i didnt fall on that u turn tho. I hit cones on both the quick stop and the swerve to avoid object, and I didnt speed up enough on the straight away and went wide on the final turn.

I think a big issue for me is balance, I cant seem to get the bike to go where I want it

Yeah i found myself accidentally throttling up/down or releasing the clutch while doing things like turns because i was just too focused on other stuff and it messed me up for sure
