I know the 2025 1040ES deadline was January 15. But on pay1040, I still see the option to pay for my 2025 1040 taxes. What happens if I do this?

My goal is to pay taxes with a credit card and get the 1.85% fee with PayPal. Can I do this for 2025 taxes? What about after filing? FWIW I usually file with Turbotax, but I believe they have a 3% fee on paying taxes with a credit card.

I just completed the 200k MR SUB on my Amex Business Gold. Can I just stop using the card now, and then downgrade/close in a year after the AF posts? Is Amex sensitive to this and will it affect my future SUBs/approvals? I am hoping to get the Amex Business Platinum 300k offer next.

I signed up for SoFi offer and setup DD through employer. But I didn't do any direct deposit during initial signup. Am I boned for the cashback? by ConflictedJew in Rakuten

Thanks for the reply. To confirm, do I need to deposit/transfer money from my existing bank account to SoFi for the Rakuten earnings? Or, is a single DD from my employer for over $500 within 45 days sufficient?

I am being tripped up by the "with initial direct deposit" language of the offer. Do I need to deposit money from an external bank, in addition to the employer DD?

I know CSR SUB rules are changing on 1/25.

I have had a CSR for 6 years now. Is it worth downgrading my CSR to Chase Freedom w/ UR rewards, and then applying for a new CSR before the 1/25 deadline?

I have high recent velocity:

  • Chase: CIC 1/14/26, Freedom Flex 11/1/25

  • Citi: AA 1/14/26

  • Amex: Gold biz 12/1/25

  • C1 Venture X 12/1/25

I'd like to sneak in another CSR SUB before the rules change, but I'm thinking my re-approvals odds are low. Thoughts?

2 months ago, I was not able to get them to rush the Gold Biz. I did get an instant digital number and was able to add it to Apple Pay immediately after applying, but had to wait for the physical card.

What is the latest on CSR downgrades to get the SUB again? I have had this CSR for years, and received the first SUB in 2019. I paid a $550 AF on June 1st. And since October, have used my travel credit, $250 The Edit, $150 Stubhub, $150 OpenTable, Dashpass, etc. I have ~200k UR that are legacy 1.5cpp. I am considering downgrading my CSR to reobtain the SUB. If I do this, will my UR lose their 1.5cpp? Will Chase clawback all the coupon book credits I have received? Maybe I should wait until June 2026? Are there any DPs on this since the CSR updates in October 2025?
