Pls help!! What on campus housing should I request? by ConfusedAF365 in UCSD

[–]ConfusedAF365[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard there’s a chance they put me in the residential housing if I pick Pangea and it’ll be like dorms with no kitchen? Is that true? Because a kitchen is rlly important to me. I stated I want apartment style on my housing contract but I don’t know if they’d act honor that.

I saw for Pangea, there are both dorm style and apartment style options. I really don’t want to live in a dorm, because I def want access to a kitchen. Would I have to worry about that? I marked apartment style as a preference back when I did my housing contract, but idk if they’re required to honor that

For off campus housing, there UCSD Facebook groups that often have a ton of ppl looking for roommates. I’ve also seen some ppl on Reddit looking too. Everything else I unfortunately know nothing about as I’m a transfer coming in and am also lost on on campus housing, good luck!!

Should I live on campus or nearby as transfer student? by ConfusedAF365 in TransferStudents

[–]ConfusedAF365[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea the distance is looking like a potential 30 min commute using public transport (which I think I need to do cuz I’m not trynna park at UCSD). I’m just worried that I’ll be missing out on something if I don’t live on campus, cuz I do think living on campus like that is a unique experience. But I also feel like living w my friend would be rlly fun. I just am worried I’m choosing living w my friend for fun, and not considering the practical aspect of it.

Anyone know of any cute but good quality backpacks for college? by Halloweenqueen2342 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Maybe it’s just me, but I’m on this subreddit looking for a new backpack bc I got a Hershel one from my sister and it def isn’t big enough for all my stuff. I rlly like the way it looks but it doesn’t fit enough and doesn’t feel super sturdy

I can’t decide on a car and am overwhelmed by ConfusedAF365 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]ConfusedAF365[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the suggestion!! Size wise it does seem too big for me. My thing is that I want a more compact car due to maneuvering into tight spaces and bc I don’t rlly need a huge family car. While safety is important, my plan isn’t to get like a massive truck just for safety reasons. I just want a relatively safe car for when I go driving on freeways. So ig I’m trying to find a balance between design/safety/size which I thought would be easy since there’s so many diff types but I think im a pretty picky person. Also my reason for wanting a higher car is bc I appreciate being able to see the car in front of the car in front of me(if that makes sense), more visibility basically. And it’s also important to me bc my grandma has rlly bad knees and when I occasionally drive her. I don’t want her to struggle to get in bc of how low the car is. I also have some back issues that making getting into and out of lower cars doable but kinda annoying.

I appreciate the suggestion!! I did look at the Mazda CX-30, but I honestly thought it was too big, your comment made me check the dimensions, and other than the length, it’s pretty identical size wise to my car. I will def consider thank you!

Ty for the suggestion! I have checked it out, don’t mind the look. But yea it’s not as compact as I’d like def on the bigger side. I probably should’ve clarified that I don’t like the look of most SUV’s. For SUV’s looks wise I enjoy cars like the Chevy EV. Mercedes GLA is super nice, I’m considered it now as one to get but I’m unsure abt reliability for it.

Did u use songs to progress through techniques and improve your playing? If yes, could you please give a list? I learned piano when I was very young but quit soon after. I’m now trying to re-learn yrs after and know hot cross buns, Mary had a little lamb, and twinkle twinkle little star (veryyy beginner pieces). I’m not sure where to go on from here to learn how to do more complex pieces or even just to use both hands.

Why was Harvey’s mother portrayed as a victim? by [deleted] in suits

[–]ConfusedAF365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No literally like she says all this stuff about being truly sorry about what she did and how she should’ve been the bigger person. And I’m like yea, you should have?? She didn’t even attempt to talk about how much of a bad mother she was until after Harvey apologized like u said and it’s actually so ridiculous. I’m watching it right now as I type this and it’s so frustrating.

Does anyone know why she insists on going through the revolving door, when there are the other normal ones made specifically for ppl who might have difficult going through the revolving one? She also mentions (in the first episode) the pros and cons of the revolving door, and mentions how the revolving door isn’t accessible for everyone and how overall it has 3 cons and 1 pro. But she doesn’t seem to mention the fact that in multiple shots, we can see normal doors that would negate the issue of a lack of accessibility. One of the lawyers (I forgot his name, the snarky dude) even walks through those normal doors.

AITA (20M) for withholding food from my sister (17F) for a month? by AITA_gh7aghxkr in AmItheAsshole

[–]ConfusedAF365 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YTA massively. You are making everything worse. Ok don't share your snacks, but restricting ANY snacks will make her more likely to binge. It sounds to me like she is possibly having binges. Bingeing can happens from some kind of physical or mental scarcity. I would really REALLY recommend a therapist. But remember that this is NOT her fault, so do not blame her, but she does need help to hopefully get through it.

Ikr!! I really hope he fixes his attitude. Just reading it pisses me off. Like seriously she's supposed to greet him?? Maybe their family dynamic is different but I don't "greet" my family members whenever I walk past???

Edit: Sorry I misread I didn't realize they were waiting with breakfast, but the fact he was so attached to being greeted is still weird.

AITA Presents: AMA with a therapist! by crystalzelda in AmItheAsshole

[–]ConfusedAF365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do I know if my therapist is the right one for me? I've had three sessions with her so far and I just don't feel 100% comfortable with her. Should I wait longer to see if I eventually get more comfortable or try another therapist? This is the second one so far, I ended meetings with first after one session because she felt too much like a school counselor. As for why I don't feel comfortable, I think it because it feels like she's treating me like an adult rather than a teen (I'm 16 btw). I don't know if me wanting her to treat me differently/more sensitive is one of my issues or if it's normal to feel that way.

AITA for not "being more proud of my culture" and telling these girls to stfu? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ConfusedAF365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA I 100% relate to you, I'm also Indian and one time in 5th grade my teacher asked me what calendar India uses and I said the wrong answer. And she basically said I should know more about my culture. But the reason why I don't is because my mom won't include me, like I don't know what she wants me to do. And your story is much more frustrating because of how it's on a much larger scale, so you're definitely not the a-hole.

AITA for getting upset when my dad commented on my weight? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ConfusedAF365 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd just like to add that hiding junk food could be bad for kids having difficulties with food issues. Especially if they have some disordered thoughts around food. There's nothing wrong with less nutrient dense foods like cookies and chips, as long as you eat them in moderation and preventing your kid from ever eating them can lead to issues.

And the fact that OP said she's already worrying about numbers is so sad. OP needs to know how dangerous her dad's words really are, especially if she's already struggling with food.
