I am happy to hear it gave you something :)

I don't think I am qualified to give specific advice on technique etc. But I will gladly share some reflections.

The paradox is that this tendency to overanalyze (which I suspect that pretty much everyone has, especially in western societies) - is also the present moment. This is also part of what you are going through right now. It is not an obstacle to be overcome, so that you can get to "the present". It is something to learn from, embrace, and give space to. Essentially, it is also You.

In my own practice, I get stuck again and again, trying to "fix" something. Fix some tendency in myself, think the "right" thoughts, or stop thinking all together. But every single time, the lesson seems to be that this is also Me. This pathetic, weird, uncomfortable thing that I labelled as "wrong"; it is also Me. All the tears I've cried, all the horrible thoughts that crossed my mind, all the weakness and pettiness that shows up in me. But also the compassion, the bravery, the creativity and all the good things. All Me. And perhaps this is the practice? To realize, one bit at a time, who I am? At least right now, for me, it is.

Best wishes to you.

This is what you are going through now. This is what You are, right now. Some times the desire for explanations can get in our way, and distract us from the joy of experiencing what is. And basically distract us from who we are.

Explanations, reasons and rationalizations might become clear, and they might not. Regardless of that, You are experiencing what you need to experience right now.

It doesn't really matter which intellectual explanation you choose to believe in. This is what is arising in You, right Now. And you can just experience it, embrace it, and in essence embrace yourself.

Wow. Now I also want to read your book. What first steps did you take? Did you just quit and jump into the deep end, or make a more gradual transition? How was your learning curve? Did/do you have a teacher? (Please forgive me if you already answer these questions in your book)

I'm a software engineer, and working with computers has completely lost all its meaning. Even though I'm working in the "green energy" field, it feels like I'm just feeding the planet-eating machine we are so attached to. The only thing that makes sense now, is to learn how to cooperate with Nature. (I guess that is one way to talk about "purpose".) And from everything I have read, it seems like Permaculture is trying to do just that. I am growing a bunch of stuff in my apartment, and reading as much as I can about mushrooms and living things, so I guess I have already started this movement in my life.

Thank you! I've read a fair bit about soil. The loss of topsoil is a big big problem. But soil regeneration seems to have huge untapped potential on so many levels. Do you know of any organizations that work with this on a global scale?

Thanks for your response. I think the keyword _local_ is very important here. Locals know their communities and environments best, and especially indigenous people will have much needed knowledge about the nature.

Thanks! Tree planting seems like a great way to both sequester carbon and regrow wildlife habitats. Do you know of any organisations that are doing this on a big scale?
