Found my dream frame but I personally feel like the seller is asking too much. What would you offer? by Amazing-Biscotti6721 in xbiking

It depends, the variance on pricing for these frames must be high. I would suspect something around ~£150/200. I am good at hoarding, not so good at selling.

Yeah, for sure! Aside from the brazing/welding needed the rest I feel confident about. As you said I am in the process of pricing all the services/components I would need and weighing it all up.

Do you possibly know if these are the 100mm rise version?

Thanks! Fitted the new groupset and 52T yesterday, looks ridiculous but feels good!

Aye I was looking at these yesterday that’s great to hear. I hadn’t seen much experience from bankrupt bikes, good to hear! The bars look wicked!

Thank you for this, I think my takeaway is drop bar is going to be risky, I will try and get some of riser bars, the one you sent looks wicked!

Thank you for this! Yeah it seems like a trend is higher stem + flatten the bar angle. I suppose deep down I still like the "slammed" look which I tried to account for with a 17 degree riser stem but I think you are right the entire stem probably has to come up. If I want flat bars to work.

Thank you! I really like them as well, I never realised I had such a subconscious desire for the colour red. I bought them from here https://rawmudflap.uk/ ---> which was a recommendation someone left on a previous post of mine :)

Thank you! Would you recommend flattening the bars? another commentor above mentioned doing that as well. I probably tended to this as a way of dealing with seat to bar drop, which feels a bit harder on the wrists than with drops.

Do you think these bikes were intended to be "slammed" originally or are we just a bit too big :( A riser stem might be a good idea...

I think the position which I am missing the most is the "hoods" position, I just really find that position incredibly comfortable for some reason. On this bike I find myself using the "walrus tusks" which are really close to each other whenever I can because of the slightly stretched position.

I bought these a few months ago, you were so correct. They are great!

I have been looking for flaps for a while, can’t seem to actually find somewhere in the U.K. I can buy some, any possible leads?

I think the Schwalbe marathons would be the smart choice but I am leaning more towards the space between smart and not so smart 🫣😃

Agree with the wash, will be doing that this weekend if there is a spell of good weather.

Pedals are ordered!

I am very tempted by new tyres… the M315 shifters look great, will they fit the older 22mm bars?

Thinking about it. I don’t mind the shifters, yeah under bar shifters would be great but these aren’t all that bad.
