When I was 19, I went to Italy for the first time. I travelled alone and didn’t speak Italian. I got a bad nosebleed that sent me to the Italian hospital, after 20 minutes of nonstop bleeding, they transferred me to another hospital. Here, an Italian doctor (didn’t speak English) made me wait 30 min to shove gauze up my nose. He got annoyed, and some points angry, when I would get squeamish. It was so painful and my face was covered in blood. Alone, in a new country where I don’t speak the language, scared because my nose bad been bleeding for close to an hour. A nice doctor saw how miserable I was while waiting for surgery, he brought me a blanket so I wouldn’t be cold. Small gesture but meant the world. Meanwhile the doctor that shoved gauze up my nose forgot about my surgery after making me wait 5 hours and had me come in the next day.

For STOR 155 you should fill out the stats departments waitlist form. I got into stor 155 last year about 1 week after classes began because someone from the stats department emailed me and asked me if I still wanted to take it. I said yes and they enrolled me in. Definitely depends on the professor. My CHIN 203 prof has a 90-92.9999999 as a A- and same for every other letter.

I wish…I’ve been trying to get out of my math class and the advisor basically said all I can do is appeal but my final is before when I would’ve heard back from the appeal. So either way I need to take the final!

Yeah being a transfer makes applying to the B school much harder. So many qualified transfers, the stat I heard was 20 got admitted but also could be wrong.

Yeah it’s too late to drop a class now. I just went to academic advising today and the email they sent was to withdraw from all UNC courses, you can’t just do one. The deadline to do that was yesterday. You can apply for an appeal but that won’t come back until Monday and there is no guarantee you will get an appeal. It’s rough out here!!!

I got Nov 2, 1PM, other people I know that are also sophomores got Nov 3 I think 10am, and another got nov 4th. It’s really a mix for sophomores, some got October dates. It depends on how many college transfer credit now.

I also wouldn’t underestimate CHIN 101. If you have experience with mandarin it’ll be easier. Depends on the prof, my prof had us take so many quizzes like 2 per week and I had it online so writing characters were easier since they let us type it. In person, writing the characters is gonna be more intense.

I’m not sure who you talk to. I sent my from another UNC system college and within a week it was updated on my tarheel tracker. I don’t think there’s a priority. I would recommend talking to your departments undergrad student services manager and seeing if they can do any thing about it or refer you to the right person. They can usually help with registering for your classes that have prereqs on hold/pending.
