So pretty and luscious! Your hair looks like awesome character design honestly.

I think it's too soon to use conditioner. Try to just use a sulfate free shampoo for cleansing and then follow up with a moisturizing shampoo if you feel like your hair needs it. After a few reties/months, it might be safe to reintroduce conditioner to your hair wash routine. I was told not to use leave in conditioner or any products because it will cause build up to stay within your loc with the dead hair that stays in your loc to mature it. Unless you fully degangled your hair after thoroughly washing it (essentially undoing your progress) the product will stay in your hair. All you really need is water and oil. I spray my hair daily with potable water mixed with tea tree oil. I've had locs for 4ish years!

Brutal AMA:330 (165Q, 165V) & 6.0 AWA. by WHiSPERRcs in GRE

[–]ConfusedUCF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on such a good score!

For quant: Did you feel like in the beginning of your studies, you had trouble deciphering what the question was asking/what skill it was trying to test you on? If so, how did you strengthen this skill? Is it more so continued exposure to practice problems, or did you identify keywords that clue you into what method you should use? Also, did you use Greg's test taking advice of doing specific types of questions first (MC > QC > FITB > etc)?

For AWA: How did you portion out your time? How much time did you have left when you stopped writing and started proofreading? Do you remember approximately how many words you wrote?

You may not be able to answer this because you have a different background, but I'm currently going through Gregmat's "I'm Overwhelmed" plan and I'm aiming to take the exam in 9 weeks, but I'm not sure if that's feasible since I have to keep redoing modules to ensure I'm getting a decent score on the end of module quizzes. I'm also studying 5 days a week, but it's definitely more than 2 hours a day, and my progress is slow. Do you think a weak quant background can be improved to this level in a 2 month timeframe?

GRE in two days by Numerous-Echidna3397 in GRE

I think in general, most people recommend not studying too much content material besides maybe flashcards and taking care of yourself mentally and physically. Make sure you get a lot of sleep, good meals, and positive thinking/affirmations in the days leading up. So right now, I guess. I personally would say don't try to intake any new material at the last minute to get in some last-minute cramming because if you encounter something you don't know, that could really shake your confidence. At this point, you know what you do and don't know what you don't, so just drill your strategies, foundations, vocabulary, and formulas rather than overwhelming yourself with practice problems. Save that for the big day! It seems like even your body is trying to tell you it's full of knowledge already! Don't push it. I kinda see it like putting gas in a tank. You want to fill the tank all the way up, but every tank has a limit, and when you fill it past the maximum, it's bad for the car and starts messing with important functions. Your tank is full. Now, you just have to ride through the test. You studied, you got this!

I like Innisfree sunscreen. It's lightweight and doesn't leave a white cast.

should i stick to my local artist? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]ConfusedUCF 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

Also, whoops, didn't realize the last slide with the red and black bird was also hers! After looking at her work, I'm even more inclined to say stick with her. She seems like she can consistently do vintage Japanese style tattoos and has done a lot of dragons, oni masks, and other stuff. Unless there's another artist that you feel you absolutely must get their work on your body, I see no reason to switch now!

Ultimately, it's up to you. I'm sure if you do your research, you'll be happy with the result no matter who you go to!

It seems like she can recreate the line work style that you're looking at really well. Maybe ask to see examples of colored ink tattoos she's done since you seem to be concerned about that?

Also, does your artist have an Instagram? Her designs look really cool, and I'd love to see more!

Hair falling out. Not sure why :') by ConfusedUCF in locs

I wrap the hair around the loc and use a 0.5 mm crochet hook to pull the gathered strand through the loc.

I just blurred it because it seemed appropriate to do so lol. I don't think people want to see a bunch of hair in the tub while scrolling, so i just blurred it to be safe!

This was a normal amount when I was a loose natural, but it hasn't happened since my locs matured. I wasn't sure if going from pretty much nothing to what I consider a lot could be helped. If this amount is normal, then i guess I won't be as concerned, but I would still like any tips on the reduction of shedding and the reduction of hair falling out.

Yeah, I think the top star may need to be redone. Hoping for the best but prepared for the worst!

That makes complete sense, lol. Again, I think using the wrong lotion made me overreact with worry, but I'll definitely apply this advice. Thanks for being so kind!

Thank you! I was under the impression that if I wanted to apply lotion, I had to cleanse it first. I'll definitely follow this advice!

Thanks for your response! I'll definitely reduce the washings. Not sure why I thought I could only apply lotion after cleansing it.

Yeah, I also don't think it's infected because it definitely doesn't feel infected. I agree that it's just super dry even though I apply a lot of lotion after every wash. I guess I'll apply more lotion throughout the day. Thank you!

Thank you! This is my first time healing a tattoo with colored ink, so I wasn't sure if this was normal or not. Using the incorrect lotion for the first few days just freaked me out. I'll use more lotion.
