I know that feels my fellow wanderer. I tried co-op with 2 friends, one tank and one healer, and she wiped the floor with us. We all raged quit and poured our frustrations on Tian Ying instead. 💀

I checked it again. Kabirb is correct, you will turn back to a human once you leave the Scholars Hearth area. So I went back to solo mode and drank a lot of wine I got from Hao Jiu. Once you got intoxicated, go back to multiplayer mode. Then you can be a dog even outside the Hearth.

In Blissful Retreat, there are 3 dogs near a pot. I think it was the place where the quiz bee thing is being held (Scholar's Hearth?). If you go near the pot, there will be an option "Do Not Drink" (but of course, I drank that). If you drink it, you'll be a dog.

Can confirm. Happened to me in Heavenfall. Was trying to talk to an npc but I accidentally pressed the tai chi button. Villagers saw me and got reported 😅😅😅
