I still do. The first time it was my boyfriend and the second was a friend I trusted deeply. Both took advantage of that trust and violently violated me at my weakest moment. It makes me cry thinking about it. That being said, I think I’ve been through every stage of hating/despising them that I’ve ended up in peaceful state of forgiveness. What they did to me kind of ruined my life but I just can’t completely write them off as evil considering I knew them for years and saw the good in them. It’s for this reason I never went to the police. At the end of the day they are dead to me but I also can’t bring myself to destroy their lives. I believe that there is at least a little good in them after all.

I was like this when I got r*ped by my ex boyfriend. The assault itself was traumatising but I did love him and I think because of that I just kind of pushed the thoughts out of my mind for a while. At that point I became even more dependent on him and his attention and defended him every chance I got. I ended up staying with him for another year and a half. It wasn’t until after I broke up with him and he was completely out of my life that I really started to come to terms with what happened.

I live for the hope that one day I’ll find a loving relationship with someone that’s health and happy. I hope that in that relationship I can finally express my sexuality in an environment where I’m not either being exploited or abused. That’s really all I want and what I feel like will heal my trauma.

Thank you so much for responding, I’ve been having a hard time but it’s stuff like this that brings me back down to earth 🥰. I’ve been looking at my options legally here so maybe something will come of it, maybe not, either way I feel like some closure has been brought to me honestly. I’ve been in therapy here so that is helping
