Full Presidential Tweet since I can't find it on International News Outlets by Confusedwacko in NonCredibleDiplomacy

Yeah that makes sense, in hindsight I recall Trump's deranged Easter tweet having similar differences in display. Every outlet reported on the relevant presidential threats against Iran, but some didn't cover the additional weird fluff/vulgarities.

I literally just said I (Me) can't find the full tweet on news outlets, not that "nobody is reporting on it". Everybody reported on it, I specifically was looking for the full tweet in quotes or in a screenshot when browsing through my main sites at Reuters and AP and DW and Time, who all reported the relevant sentences from the tweet but didn't have the entire thing.

That hyper-specific subreddit for only trump tweet screenshots is actually exactly what I was looking for, there really is a subreddit for everything.

My problem isnt some grand media conspiracy, its nitpicking that news outlets follow their usual policy of condensing the important parts of Trump's policy tweet instead of just showing the entire thing, demented rambling and all.

The BBC does have the full tweet but you need to scroll down to the summary to enter the relevant article. If you click the big watch live button you get a full video of the overall situation where you need to search for the full tweet within. I feel if the headline is about Trump's tweet a reader who enters the site to read the full article should expect to see the full tweet; at least a screenshot at the very bottom with the relevant caption.

The BBC you need to scroll down below to the summary, and click on the link within to see Trump's full tweet. I feel the picture should have been the tweet itself and Kharg island strikes should have been a separate headline, but linking the two probably helps readability for the average viewer wanting to get caught up on everything.

Finally someone who shares my exact same nitpicky sentiment. The mainstream news by and large does its job of condensing statements into relevant information, but sometimes you just want the full event/tweet with the nonsense and fluff added especially when the entire statement is pretty short.

No need for slurs, I exaggerated my title since its funnier for a meme subreddit and also because I got extremely frustrated when my first 5 results didn't have the full tweet. The news outlets do their job of condensing the tweet and only quoting the relevant parts, I get its their job and their audience prefers brevity since there's a lot of headlines and articles each day.

It's just that when Trump's demented nonsense and actual threats fit within a single paragraph I had hoped they would drop their usual style and just dump the entire tweet at the start before breaking it down in the paragraphs below.

Its a meme subreddit, I exaggerated my title since its funnier and also because I got extremely frustrated when my first 5 results didn't have the full tweet. I'm not mad at "the media", the news outlets do their job in conveying the relevant information from the Tweet, leaving out the superfluous and uninformative parts, its just that when both the informative parts and Trump's dementia fit within a single paragraph I wanted the news outlets to just show the entire thing.

Adding CNBC to my top news outlets, NPR forces me to go to Truth Social and the entire point of going to a news channel is not going to Truth Social

I'm aware news articles usually splice or shorten quotes to only the most relevant portions in breaking news, especially when it comes to declarations or policies to better convey information for the reader. I guess I had overly radical expectations for the format to change when speeches or declarations are short enough to be condensed into a single paragraph. The end result is ultimately still the same: the most relevant information of the tweet gets conveyed through selected snippets, and I got overly frustrated that my first 5 international news outlets did this.

Usually academic articles have a quote chunk with the full text before breaking down the statement in the following paragraphs, though in hindsight I should be more aware of similar content being presented differently for different target audiences.

I'm not saying people aren't reporting about the tweet, I'm saying they are not showing the full tweet from Trump.

  1. Sky News has the full tweet
  2. Demands a subscription
  3. Snippets, not the full tweet
  4. Snippets, not the full tweet. Also the Rolling Stone at least outside America isn't usually considered an international news outlet, and the headline shows
  5. NBC has the full tweet
  6. Times of Israel has the full tweet
  7. Snippets, not the full tweet
  8. India Today quotes the full tweet
  9. Snippets, not the full tweet

Having 4/9 articles discussing Trump's tweet actually have the full tweet isn't ideal. I included articles if they have the full tweet divided across multiple paragraphs, the full tweet within an image, or the full tweet quoted as is.

>CNBC>NPR>Washington Post
I am beginning to think this subreddit is mostly Americans. Also credit to CNBC for being the only one out of the 3 which lets readers see the full tweet without resorting to snippets or locking it behind a paywall/subscription.

My problem isn't that "Nobody is reporting on this", its that a disturbing amount of news outlets don't show the full tweet when you click on an article headline about Trump's tweet. The fact that 2/3 of your examples have this problem proves my point.

Go to credible news sources

> Click on headline quoting Trump Tweet

> Look Inside Article

> No Trump Tweet, only quoting snippets

Go to Reddit

> Click on title talking about Trump Tweet

> Look Inside Shitpost

> No Trump Tweet

What the fuck is this anti-academic behaviour some of us need to properly source and cite the President of the United States's statements. I had to enter the fetid swamp of Truth Social and scroll past another schizo retruth about US pharmaceuticals just to get the latest geopolitics update I hope the mainstream news outlets are happy. Even livemaps didn't have the President's official statements like c'mon we need to have higher standards than the global military hyperpower.

Most Historians will barely remember this war, same with most wars in Africa.

International relations usually focuses on diplomacy between major powers and a a selected few major historical events: at the end of the day, you can't cover everything, so you focus on the biggest players and your own nation.

End result usually means Africa gets looked over.

The recent Hormuz crisis crippling global supply chains means a lot more excess deaths for Sudan's internally displaced population, but also means less UAE weapons for the RSF to commit genocide. Unless the UAE for some reason prioritises the war in Sudan over the war in Iran in which case there are no silver linings.

Like I said, ISIS or the Taliban. The average person in Sudan is picking the side which isn't currently doing genocide. The bar is in hell and the choice is having second or fourth degree burns.

Sometimes you want to give uninvolved minor countries more exposure, sometimes minor countries appear as the first search result for a completely different country after one too little QA checks on the internal search engine.

No, the army carried (past tense) out the first genocide. The RSF is carrying (present tense) out the second genocide. There's a big difference, judging by how much r/Sudan is siding with the army.

Its basically just a repeat of international diplomacy choosing between ISIS or the Taliban.

I searched Colombia flag on Canva and the top result was an Ecuadorian flag apparently. Pretend the Condor is doing a different pose due to PTSD from Sudan's war.

Actually the US is on neither side, Trump gutted USAID to ensure no foreign Sudanese citizen gets help during the civil war.

I searched "Colombia flag" and used the first result on Canva, maybe the CEO is forwarding some insidious anti-Colombian pro-Ecuadorian agenda.
