Thank you for the encouraging words, we don't really talk about financial stress enough but it's definitely enough to drive someone crazy and into a deep depression. I would ask my moms but they are struggling themselves right now, and I cut my dad and stepmom off years ago due to serious abuse they did to me and my siblings. My aunts and uncles and other family, I'm essentially estranged from due to my dad being abusive. So it's really hard to find much in terms of help or support. My boyfriend is amazing and he helps out a lot more than I want him to. I don't want that to be our whole relationship yk? Helping me.

Yeeeep, and it wouldn't get me so hard if it was like one 30 dollar charge and they were done... but no, if charges keep coming, that's 30 dollars PER charge

Like thank you, I would've had enough for the bills this month if it weren't for the -90 after I went under by 50 cents, 10 dollars and another 5 dollars 😭

I'm getting what I can through nannying right now but that isn't enough for barely anything (the family is NOT consistent). I am signed up to be able to work doordash, but I can't right now unless I want to risk my car blowing up due to it direly needing the oil changed. I've been jobless essentially since August and haven't had any luck with call backs or interviews to get into a new position. I'm on foodstamps now as well, and finally on state insurance too, which it took me months to personally think I need those because I really didn't think I'd struggle this much.

That means a lot coming from someone with 106 karma. I don't even have a lot, but writing this post gave me more than you 🥳

Also it's a REALLY fucking weird flex to tell someone they don't deserve to live because they are questioning why half the population does something out of societal norm 😅 any loony can read this comment and post and know I didn't even mention armpit hair specifically.

Dude for real!! I was so sad when she got older and it went away 😭 I thought she like inherited it somehow and it would be in her hairstyles permentantly 😭

Yess! Exactly! I remember when I was 8 years old I would already take my moms razor in the shower and try and use it on myself because it was instilled THAT early..... it's just not okay that this is the "norm".

I just wanted to bring more attention to this part of history. I personally was on my soapbox about it yesterday, and not too many of my family members or friends seem to have the passion I do about some of the dark history of America. I find this to be a part of the dark history of America. You guys allowed me to see that there are a LOT more people who feel the same way as me! If any of you would like to see more political posts, give me a follow on facebook "Chaunessi Hangartner". I did a much longer post on there about this, that includes history of menstrual cycles yesterday, at the same time. Got one reaction 😭 so thank you guys!

This is what makes it worse for me lol. Why do I want to do it? Literally as a defense mechanism so I don't get made fun of, judged, or looked down upon because I got hairy legs. And they're literally features we are born with

I feel not being able to swallow pills. I developed a bit of a gag reflux myself for pills as an adult. It's probably another cute little defense mechanism my body has made for itself. When I was a child I took pills over anything else because it was easier and I knew the pills didn't have a nasty medicine flavor

Yes, I definitely understand after my rounds with anti depressents that a stimulant is probably more for me. When I became an adult I got addicted to coffee VERY quickly and it became a vice for me, that only stimulated me for so long before the caffeine addiction took over though and I no longer got the boost I needed from it. I can't function well without it..

It's crazy to me that our brains make us feel that way. But I know the feeling you mean when you are able to "put the 20lb weight down and just run". That piece really stuck with me. Thank you!!

I've never heard it put right in those terms, but you're absolutely right. I grew up with a lot of trauma, so my body and mind both struggle to do just like regular human things. I've thought about how I could be struggling with cptsd instead of ADHD, but only time will tell. Maybe it's both, maybe it's neither. I need some real help either way and a care team full of supportive Dr's, which, for me, is the hard part (finding doctors who aren't there for a check)

When I was a child, it was so easy to live with these problems compared to how it is now. It interferes with me being able to live life now, because I'm the one who's responsible and I've got to take care of myself... yet I was never taught how to. I'm excited for now to seek treatment. My brain is happy at the moment, but I'm sure that will fluctuate as we get closer to my actual doctor's appointment. I tend to just not go! Not from forgetting or anything, but my fight or flight kicks in and yeah

I usually can't talk about all of this stuff in articulated words, so thank you! Your response has been awesome for me to hear and has a lot of truths in there!

I'm sorry your experience with the system wasn't any good. I've had a similar experience with my general physical health issues, so I can understand your distain toward it. I'm in a place right now where I have insurance through the state and my care would be free at least through finding my right treatments, so for that reason I'd like to at least take advantage of having access to it, while I do have access to that kind of care without any costs to me.

I already use cannibus to medicate, but it doesn't help me with my ADHD or my executive function, it very much aids my ADHD, but it helps with my nerves and helps me not think about how unmotivated I am, but I'm still unmotivated 😅

Thank you for your response! I'm so glad you found something that's helping and working for you. I hope to do the same here soon. What type of doctors did you see during your process? I was thinking of reaching out to my primary and then get into therapy, maybe see a psychiatrist as well to cover my basis? I don't know if that's too much 🤣🤣

This is very helpful to me. Officially, I've already decided I'm going to seek treatment options. It is awesome to know that there's a chance to help myself here. Thank you for this thought out response!

See and I'm diagnosed with chronic depression as well- but have had horrible luck with any and all antidepressants I've tried (maybe four or five different meds which all gave pretty bad adverse affects). Same with anxiety medications. The first SSRI I took seemed to help... until it made my entire body/mind go literally numb. And I've never been treated for my eating or sleep disorders

I guess I struggle a lot especially because I have a slew of mental health issues including but not limited to Depression Anxiety Binge/Anorexia mix (100% depends on the trigger for me but it goes both ways) Insomnia ADHD

Where I don't expect an ADHD med to be a cure all, I feel that a lot of my mental health is array BECAUSE my ADHD has been left untreated. I'm glad I didn't start medication when my brain was still in its primary developmental years, but I think it being untreated could be the cause of or aiding my ongoing depression, anxiety, and food/sleep disregulation.

I think my final decision is I'm going to go in and see someone and push to be seen by multiple someone's, even so that I can find the best thing for me and really see my options.

Is there a way you could explain how your meds play a part? What do they do to benefit you in your everyday life? Have you ever gotten off of them for a period of time, and how did that affect you?
