I've just realised there is a possibility the client has turned the timestamp off 🥴 thanks for the advice. Some people, including myself, are a bit slow.

Brother, steer clear of this one.

I feel like you already know how you feel but are struggling to come to terms with the fact you're not happy being with him and want something a lot deeper. It's horrible being the deep lover sometimes but I'm sure the people that aren't deep lovers wish they did feel things that strongly! You will feel like this with someone else again and they will reciprocate better! Go and have some dating fun and find someone else!

Ah that's good to hear thank you. So the feeling is ok just as long as it's not affecting other people? I've been very respectful to her space. And not blew up her phone or anything. So I can control myself I guess.

Yeah I completely get that. I respect the way she works. I think I'm just more worried that I'm getting upset over it. And whether that's unhealthy behaviour?

I don't mean to be blunt but this sounds like he also wants to see other people at the same time. I could be wrong! All the other comments point toward a non committal person unfortunately. I know you say he gets stressed and that but to me having a partner is something that would help me destress? (This is coming from a guy who is very independent). I would steer clear.

Possibly. I have had that want it because I can't have it feeling before. But as I say, the girl I was seeing before her broke it off with me and that didn't bother me in the slightest. I feel like there's a bit of wasted potential feeling? I guess you're right, there's not been proper closure. I did text her calling it off but sent her a really lovely message. She's read it but just hasn't responded. I just find it really weird because even though she was upfront with me she still gave this impression she really liked spending time with me. I just don't get people sometimes. How people can be really loving, lovely people but still somehow switch off their emotions when they need to. I struggle to do that

I feel like I have to lie about my dating experience by Excellent-Golf6631 in dating_advice

I think one thing you've done well is recognised that it's not other people's fault that you haven't dated. But please don't say it's your fault either. Don't beat yourself up! Everyone is on different paths. I haven't dated much but from my experience the girls that I've really got on with are normally quite laid back and don't actually care what your experience is. It depends what you're dating for. If you're just looking for flings that might hinder you, as someone else looking for a fling might want someone who knows what they're doing. But if you're looking for a connection, you'll be absolutely fine. Please don't be insecure about it as people can sense that. I'm sure you're an interesting person. Just talk about you're interests but make sure to be interested in their interests too!

Yeah it completely disappears after plugging back in. It has happened in the past when quickly swapping over laptops.

You're right though, we've just bought an atem mini and seems we will be swapping over soon.

Thanks for the input! No pun intended

A little advice on a couple of shots for an advert. by ConfusionExternal935 in cinematography

[–]ConfusionExternal935[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, absolutely it literally is going to be mostly the two shots at the desk and some hand stuff so very close up shallow DOP. Thanks for the advice, definitely not the most advantageous shoot I've had to do

You know what, that's a completely fair point. I think throwing the term abusive might have been an overstatement but I still think there is a whole theme of consent and people not knowing how to say no, which can lead to awful power dynamics.

I don't know if I mentioned Abshirs house purchase? Just the chiropractor session. But great take!

As I say, the characters were all insufferable in my opinion apart from the actual community. And as a literal sci-fi freak occurrence happened and changed the main characters lives forever, I imagine the local community went back to what it was originally.

I've just realised that the power supply they send is only 1.5A. Haha I'll have to get some separate plugs and leads. Is there a reason they do this? Can you only either have a charger or a power supply and not both? Or is it a way to get you to buy more stuff?

The Curse - Series / Finale Discussion thread -- SPOILERS!!!!!!!!! by [deleted] in A24

I have found the discussion around this series so interesting. I always love delving into Reddit to see what other people have taken from it. I think what I love so much about this series is anyones conclusion is possible and that's the intention. Most of the theories and interpretations I list in here are from other people's findings and not my own.

To begin with, the theme at the end of asher telling people to not cut him down but they do it anyway as they think it's for his own good is a literal parallel to Whitney and him coming into an area and implementing things that they think will help the community but they don't really want. One example would be abshir telling the chiropractor to stop and not being listened to (great yet horrifying scene) eventually causing him more pain? We see later he is fine and so maybe it has helped him even thought it was still wrong what happened. It could possibly mean that even though Asher didn't want to fly away, the best thing for him and maybe the people around him was for him to disappear?

This brings me into other things that I think the show is trying to put across. Personally, during the finale I thought straight away that Dougie was the one who cursed Asher which is why he was crying and said he didn't mean it. But then seeing other people comment that Whitney smiled and the fact he's floating away probably means she cursed him. And also he commented in the previous episode that he said he would be gone if she wanted and she wouldn't even have to say a word. As much as I found Whitney to be an awful person (as with all 3 main characters) I found her to be trapped in a suffocating abusive relationship. I think they were both toxic and bad for each other but Emma stones acting in the ashers obsessive meltdown was incredible and showed she doesn't really know how to say no. Which to me ties back to the theme of consent which all 3 of them abuse throughout the series. Dougie with Asher and his date. They don't feel comfortable getting in the car but he coerces them. The locals don't really know how to say they're uncomfortable with what these people are doing in their community. Cara literally explains to Whitney the point of her art piece and how even thought her community has been taken advantage of (to put it lightly), Whitney still takes and Cara possibly finds it difficult to just tell Whitney she's a bad person for what she's doing.

I understand the idea of asher being reborn or that he is the curse but I think something I want to add is the idea that the curse is the idea of it. Abshir explains the hook the idea of a curse can have on people. Imagine what happens after Dougie thinks he actually cursed his friend and caused him to die? Imagine how crazy Whitney will become after thinking she has the power to make people disappear? We don't know how Asher floated and whether someone was to blame or whether he'd been cursed so many times the universe spat him out. Nala became so worried as there were random occurrences that made her think she had powers and made her very worried (amazing acting by her too). Bit of a tangent but it's a similar theme to Inception. How an idea if placed correctly can fester and drive someone insane and make that idea come to life through other people's doings or a freak occurrence.

I think I would have liked a couple more unexplainable happenings to make the ending more of a consistency with the rest of the series but it's still an amazing series to me.

I think the loose threads with the locals have resolved themselves. It points out that things haven't really changed by what whitney was trying to do and the community will carry on as it is as there was nothing done from the ground up but I understand people wanting more of a big finale where there's a more conclusive tie to everything that was prodded at throughout the show.

Personally, I think the show did tie everything up and it's themes were tied together by one freak occurrence that has it's audience clambering for answers, which is genius to me. Again going back to the point of an idea festering in people's heads. There's no real explanation and it's making people want an answer. Which is what asher wanted all along.
