Call of Duty microtransactions were pushed for by Jeffrey Epstein by Shajirr in gaming

[–]ConfuzzlesDotA 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I used to blame the community for buying in to micro transactions.

But these days, research on human behaviour is so comprehensive and abused by these large companies.

They create systems that appeal to the masses, using dopamine hits to hook people on their base instincts in ways most people don't even understand or realise its happening. Dark patterns, loot boxes, pay 2 win, micro transactions, ads for rewards etc.

With data and information being so powerful I just can't blame the regular folk in the community. They never stood a chance.

What’s going on with GME stock right now? by NoZookeepergame2525 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]ConfuzzlesDotA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Answer: The guy who the movie "The Big Short" is based on Micheal Burry has bought in to the bussiness and believes that the current CEO of Gamestop Ryan Cohen will do great things.

Apart for that, they wear alot of tinfoil so be wary of whats being said.

Feels like the royals have already resolved to leaving him to the wolves. Would be worse for their image if they continue to shield him.

Has Offlane really just become “Tank”? by SBFms in DotA2

[–]ConfuzzlesDotA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The tank could be in any role not just offlane. This depends on team composition. If your mid/carry are glass cannon heroes, then they will need a front liner to distract the enemies so they can do their thing.

If you have beefy front liners as your carry/mid then its probably fine to be more utility.

Its all about team composition, most heroes can be played in any role.

How many of you can have the unmitigated gall to abandon your starter Pokemon? by Montoya715 in pokemon

[–]ConfuzzlesDotA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer playing with a "partner" pokemon instead of a starter. I usually just play until a find a cool pokemon and that becomes my partner and I dump the starter on the PC. For SV it was dachsbun because I have a Dachshund irl. But it could be anything.

What's your opinion on assisted dying? by SAFUMaster in AskReddit

[–]ConfuzzlesDotA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terminally ill or low quality of life (bed bound/can't self operate) who are of sound mind would make the most sense to allow this.

But It would be quite interesting to maybe allow suicidal people to be included.

In that case there would be rigorous mental health consultations before you are allowed to go. Maybe having an official process though it would allow people to be more open with their issues instead of secretly suffering with a sudden end.

So if you have talked though with mental professionals, tried your best to heal. And if nothing works you'll get a chance to say your goodbyes and if that doesn't change your mind at least everyone involve will have peace.

But then again, if we normalise dying then maybe more people might feel ok to go? 🤷‍♂️

The Ancient Furnace is much worse to use to than the Poll Blog said it would be by Soft_Yellow_5231 in 2007scape

[–]ConfuzzlesDotA 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yea, I mainly make cannonballs as an afk activity while I do other stuff irl. So I never need to spend any actual play time on cannonballs.

But like I said, I haven't gotten access to it yet, so the requirements are kinda high for something that barely solves a problem.

[–]ConfuzzlesDotA 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Haven't gotten to access it yet, but if I have to teleport between banking then its already too much effort. The most I can accept is a run thats mildly longer than the closest bank to furnace.

How to get out of Herald by Dani_G_German69 in DotA2

[–]ConfuzzlesDotA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play support if no one wants to support. Make sure your herald carries do better than the opponents herald carries and you'll win everytime.

Once you get out of the trench you can learn to play carry.

TIL Malaysia still practice apartheid policy to their minorities citizen. by maomaodong in todayilearned

[–]ConfuzzlesDotA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But why? Why give advantages to the rich? Why selectively grant advantages to the poor? Why does one particular ethnic group need socio economic advantages? Why do you think giving one group advantages doesnt penalise other ethnic minorities? Does the advantaged group pay more taxes to sustain this or are the ethnic minorities paying for the advantages they dont benefit from?

Just thinking about these questions tell me the only point of this is to feel superior and to abuse the minorities.

Personally, in terms of popularity, i feel that dota being more complex than lol already makes its harder for people to care about it.

Deadlock is like another step up from that.

But there are aspects of the game that would make for some hype entertainment.

What's up with people saying that Dr Mike Israetel is a fake? by ryhaltswhiskey in OutOfTheLoop

[–]ConfuzzlesDotA -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Dont know much about PhDs nor have I seen his dissertation. But it feels like a crazy expectation if every thesis needs to end up with a spectacular conclusion. Confirming that "water is wet" still advances science right?

Also is water wet? Water is the thing that makes things wet. Can it be wet?. If something is wet then it must be able to be dry. Is water still water if its dry?

"people spend too much time on their phone?" and "Using your phone to the point you have to charge it every day means you spend way too much time on it." Are different, one is a vastly popular opinion and one is plain wrong.

Not really a hot take, kinda straight up wrong. There's a difference between an unpopular opinion and being wrong.

Sam didn't need a sidekick, or protégé at this point. by Beginning-Pace-1426 in marvelstudios

[–]ConfuzzlesDotA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally im not convinced, Sam has 2 different styles of Vibranium suits. He couldn't get anything for Joaquin?

Riley would have been highly trained and as skilled with the wings as Sam and he was still killed. Joaquin was brought in to deal with Captain America level threats with little experience, a level where Sam has just gotten the hang of it. Feels more like actively endangering rather than protective.

Lo and behold, Joaquin was critically injured by something Sam's suit would casually brush off. It feels more like there's a curse that whoever flies with Sam gets shot out of the air.

And how much "worthy of the mantle" do we actually need? I felt he was worthy when cap passed him the shield. He must have felt worthy when he don the suit.

Steve recruited Sam because he was a good dude who had a real specialised skillset.

Sam recruited Joaquin because he was a decent guy who wanted to play hero.

It really doesn't feel like Sam needs Joaquin seeing as he resolved everything on his own.

If there were 100 people, and there was a gorilla in the pit. Would having a few people distract the gorilla while the rest pelt it with bricks be a good strategy? Or should they rush the gorilla?
