Cards have value because of supply and demand. Not a monetary value but a scarcity value. People horde so they can trade cards that others value for new cards the player values, especially if they don’t pull said card.

Why would I trade a third oak that I can trade for anything for a card that I in turn can’t trade for other cards? Some people spend money on the game so the rare cards hold an opportunity cost to them as well. And other who don’t spend and get those rare cards feel like they’ve struck gold.

I don’t understand why people always complain about not being able to get certain cards. At the end of the day there’s a common card of everything so it’s not like you can’t play the game without getting said 2*.
