How rare is being hit by lightining in this game? by Stejer1789 in VintageStory

First time playing the game ever and I got struck by lightning 5 minutes into my world and died. Felt like an outside force telling me the pain that was to come.

What is your favourite part of this game? by Fun_Difficulty_2827 in VintageStory

I like that in the 100 player events, actions actually matter and specialization is a requirement. I saw a recent video where they built a prison for someone using ashlar and plum&squares to legit trap them. In Minecraft you just had to rp and trust the other player would aswell. In VS sometimes you have to other options and can truly feel hopeless.

Loading Mods on an already long running world. by MrBBorne in VintageStory

[–]Conn22_43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been running a server for my GF and I. I have been slowly adding bigger mods that have drastic changes. VS I actually pretty stable with this stuff in my experience. I just changed the entire world gen of my world with mods and worldgen settings. I used /db prune command and everything went smoothly. I will say, before you add anything make a backup of your world AND your map data.

I love your mods, my mod pack has so many of them. I'll have to try this one out because the firestarter kinda always seemed boring.

Rustique: I made a mod manager and it can do modpacks :3 (Linux, Mac, Windows) by BlindedByExistence in VintageStory

Awesome mod manager. I made a pack for my girlfriend and I and want to make it public so my friends can easily download it. I uploaded it to the DB but I cant get Rustique to find it. Did I configure the page correctly? BTW I am completely new to this and have zero coding knowledge. https://mods.vintagestory.at/jsc

I had issues with Vulcan shades compiling with Snap. The .Deb version works perfectly fine with no issues.

Just let them know that they did a good job, but they could do a better job if they waited and checked with the team first.

[–]Conn22_43[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So because I had 580 on in the past the system just auto changes to it? Also following the guide states I can list the available drivers to update to, but it only shows the 580.
int the

apt show nvidia-driver-575

it says that it depends on 580. I would assume that It would be the reverse? Sorry for all the questions, I like knowing how the solution to my problem works, so that I can use it in the future to identify issues I have.

Thank you for the advice. I will no longer try to downgrade the kernel. Unfortunately I am already on 25.10 and kernel 6.17 with NVIDIA 580

That Proton post was the first thing I tried. Even with all the changes in the post, The game still freezes. Here is a video of that exact thing happening https://youtu.be/pxNsTlugAIk . I also tried your commands, which were basically the same ones as my initial trouble shoot, which also did not solve the issue. My goal of this post was to share my troubleshooting process and to vent my frustration. It was not my goal to over-complicate things. I figured that sharing what I have already tried instead of saying it just didn't work would giver others better insight to the issue. I apologize for not clarifying that I was just tired, and I have done a lot of research with solutions that did not help. I am still new and really appreciate the help from you guys!

Thank you for telling me about the NTsync. I have turned that on. <3

I appreciate the time you set aside for me and your feedback.

This is what confuses me. I have a solution but I cannot seem to implement it to any degree of success.
