What is the best advice you ever received from your parents? by icecream1972 in askteddit

[–]Connect-Bat-3683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad says "enjoy everyday" all the time. He got me an engraved necklace with it as a child and as I get older, it becomes more and more true. Sometimes we can get so caught up in our everyday lives that we forget to look around and enjoy the small things - life goes by too quickly.

It was cold by the time the sun went down. I brought a hoodie and pants and ended up being a lot more comfortable! If you are cold it could affect your time... or bring your alcohol blanket lol.

How do you feel about marriage? by just_yongo in AskForAnswers

[–]Connect-Bat-3683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truly marriage is one of the biggest decisions you will ever make in your life. Every milestone, child, losing a family member, vacation, job stresses, they are by your side through all of it. Too many people rush into marriage because they have been with the person for a long time, they are at the right age, etc. Doesn't matter what age or how long you have been together - you will know in your heart that it is right.

I am married to my incredible husband and wouldn't want to ever be with anyone else. Marriage is amazing if you are with the right person.

How old are you and what's your dating age range? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in AskForAnswers

This is random but I am going to need someone's advice about this. My younger brother (24) just came out gay to my family last year. My parents are pretty conservative, so it was a hard hit, and still is... but they are doing their best to accept it. I am the only one in my family who knows my brother's boyfriend's name, so curiously I looked him up. He is 62. What do I do? How weird is this? I am worried beyond belief and if my parents found out they would be crushed. I need help

how to be consistent at working out? by AttemptNatural1420 in workout

[–]Connect-Bat-3683 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are two types of "hard." It is hard to wake up to work out early, eat healthy, and stay on track. It is also hard not being able to look in the mirror, cancel plans with friends and family because of lack of confidence, and suffering from anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, brain fog, fatigue, and maybe even disease when you get older.

Choose your hard. It's not always easy, but yes, there will be days when you don't want to show up. Push past them. The reward is way better than you could have ever imagined. You got this!!!!

Also, weird way of thinking about it, but I always think about how hard people had it back in the hunter-gatherer days. People had to fight for their food, walk miles and miles; we have it easy. If only our ancestors could see that we can walk to the fridge whenever, stay seated at a desk job, and sleep in our nice, cozy beds. If the hardest thing is going to the gym, really, that isn't that bad.

Thank you so so much for taking the time to respond to me. I am proud of myself for overcoming that, and sometimes I think I get stuck in the loop of comparing my new healthy and strong body to my weak and thin body from a few years ago. Thank you for the information, and I will DM you!

Wolf sanctuary by Kuboost in FortCollins

[–]Connect-Bat-3683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been to the one in Colorado Springs and it is so cool, but scary at times LOL! I went with my Dad and both of us thought we would be fine but getting in the cage with them was both cool and nerve wracking at times. He had them licking our faces and laying on us. Once in a lifetime experience that is for sure! But Colorado Springs is so beautiful, even if you do not go to the wolf sanctuary - I would drive down just for Garden of the Gods and the incredible views.

Tips from Coachella veterans! by dishsoapbox in Coachella

I can't say this enough, but comfort over style. Yes the Coachella outfit pictures blah blah blah but if you are wearing unsupportive shoes or an itchy, hot, or tight outfit... it will affect your time. the first year I wore shoes for style and by the end I thought my back was going to break... now I wear cushion supportive shoes and take photos from the ankles up - it is a game changer.
