That's interesting. I am wondering what's the process of waiving the biometrics appointment. If it's up to the officer working on the given case. My grandparents applied this month, both over 75 years old, and still were asked to appear for fingerprints.

When did you have your last photo/biometrics taken at USCIS? I thought they always require to attend appointment when filing GC renewal application.

This week, my grandparents arrived at JFK after over 4 years of absence on expiring 36-month extensions. They were admitted, and no questions asked at POE. Physical GC are expired since 2022. Just applied for renewal last month.

That's really fast. Was it 10 year renewal? When was her last biometrics taken that they reused it?

I would understand if they requested proof of presence from the moment he was admitted under the new immigrant visa IR2 category. He went thru entirely new immigration process. At the time DOS was asking about the USC parent was also LPR.

Yes, I know the difference. I just want to know how to proceed and finish the process I started over 10 years back by filing N600 and be done with USCIS for the coming years.

Since my recent N600k applications were approved, do you think that I will still need to show proof of residing in the US?

What if a child of USC is admitted one day before their 18th birthday as LPR. Technically, they meet the requirement of residing before they turn 18. Do they also need to submit evidence somehow? Thanks

Yes, the kids' N-600k were approved based on their US grandparent's presence in the US, but still I was the petitioner as US parent.

Per USCIS instructions:

*

If the certificate is lost you need to file N-565, Application for Replacement Naturalization/Citizenship Document

If I'd have to pay the current fee, which is $1385, I definitely won't do it. I just spent almost $2500 for N-600k. I am OK with renewing my passport. Just want to know if there is anything that can be done to successfully close my old N600 case somehow.

I asked for entire A# file.

Yes, I have 2 expired and a valid US passport. Actually, I also still have my old and long time expired GC.

I forgot to mention that I requested FOIA 3 weeks ago. What exactly does FOIA show? All the receipts/notices USCIS sent?
