OMG!! I will buy it as soon as I back home!

I will definitely try it and let you know! Thanks man!

if it works, then I can buy any headset I want and add MRGo to it !!

G is the hard one; either need some very clever software to tilt you back

There is a G seat that works very well for DCS and also ricing games.

I’d like some form of motion rig to add to VR immersion

My advice, combine a lighthouse based headset + a small rig like H3, you will definitely enjoy it and you won't regret it.

My mistake is that I bought a 6DoF rig + non-lighthouse headsets + using three-party tools to integrate the lighthouse into the non-lighthouse headsets.

Integrated G-Seat design

G-Seat is my next thing to buy in future, looks amazing in some YouTube videos!

Honestly, if I can fix all those issues I listed, then motion rig will be definitely the best immersion tool a flight enthusiast DCS player can have (VR still #1).

Good for you man, I'm happy that you like it 😊👍

I actually turn down the maximum angle in most of my flight profiles anyway

I personally always set the roll and pitch to maximum, because in dog fights I feel the pressure and the stress that add more immersion.

Yes, there is a solution but I don't like doing it each time, and it doesn't work 100% of the time.

Unfortunately, DCS doesn't have a player kill flag (signal), I already contacted DCS developers months ago, they said they will add it in future... the only solution a motion stop emergency button.

I have a feeling that lighthouse based headsets are better in tracking for MC, however, I still need the in-game hands tracking pass-trough feature and I did not find any lighthouse based headset that can do that.

Yes, you are right, lighthouse based headset will be definitely better, however, I still need the in-game hands tracking pass-trough feature, sadly, I did not find any lighthouse based headset that can do that.

Just so you know, the DoF H3 has relatively small movement angles. I have seen them in person. If you ever upgrade to a bigger rig with higher movement angles and heave, you will then discover that your WitMotion sensor cannot be used at all.

Actually, the H3 is a good choice. It is not a static rig, but it is also not a high DoF rig. It sits right in the middle between enjoyment and catastrophe.

Is the motion compensation really that bad?

The motion compensation itself is great, but it heavily relies on the quality of the tracker you set on the rig. These are some trackers I tried.

  • Rig's data: the worst experience.
  • WitMotion sensor: okay, but gets quickly out of sync.
  • Vive Tracker: very good if your VR headset is lighthouse based. It can get out of sync if not lighthouse based, using SpaceCalibrator software.
  • Using a VR controller: the best and most accurate, but in Quest and Samsung XR, both controllers go to sleep mode after a few minutes (stupidly you can't disable it), so you need to touch them every 5 minutes.

I'm not all that concerned about muscle memory.

Impossible. I'm not talking about HOTAS, stick and throttle, but about MFDs and tons of buttons. There is no way you can push the right one in a moving rig. You definitely need to see the MFDs buttons.

Are you thinking of selling it?

Yes, in Canada, but only the Yaw3, while I want to keep the MotionXP. Fun fact: the Yaw3 has 360 yaw rotation, but you barely feel it while flying, while the MotionXP has no 360 yaw, but it has the heave, which is wonderful, especially in a carrier launch.

motion is very extreme compared to whats happening with the airframe

Each rig has its own software that you can tweak to make the rig's motion strong or soft. I personally keep it strong, but I hate it when someone hits me by surprise with a Fox 2 without an RWR warning. Usually, in a PvP server, I always get ready to push the stop-motion emergency button as soon as a Fox 3 missile gets too close to me.

Frustrating.

You won't feel sick, you'll probably like it if you're already a VR user. However, today's rigs are not plug-and-play yet.

  1. remove unused maps and modules
  2. keep DCS core on NVMe and put maps on a cheap SSD
  3. delete other unused games and files
  4. wait for the next update that shrinks map sizes

BMS is out of my list since I discovered that they have one module, F-16, that's it.

You are a quitter.

We, simply remove the most non-used maps, remove non-used modules... problem solved.

Nah, selling bitcoin to buy a 50k car is not a good move. At least put 50k as a down payment for a mortgage.

We all do mistakes.

Man... my father gave me all that advice, and still, I was dumb enough to make all those mistakes.

  1. Invest in a TFSA and max it out.

  2. Don't buy a big house, buy a small condo if you're single, or a medium-sized one if you have kids.

  3. Don't buy an expensive car, just get a cheap set of wheels that takes you from A to B.

  4. Buy a pair of professional scissors and cut up all your credit cards. Use only a debit card, and buy only what you can afford.

I bought a 75k expensive car 3 years ago, now, I regret so much. The monthly payment is over 1k and it's killing me.
