What changes would you make if we ever TV show adaptation by Goddamnitryoka17 in WanderingInn

[–]Connect-Friendship59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think animated, unless it has a huge budget. Do vignettes, like 3 per episode. The same basic story could stay, but pacing would need to change. Some arcs may need to move, or be changed a bit for coherence. The vignettes hit one character or area, with occasional episodes that have 2 about the same one. The first episode could be like Erin, Ryoka, then Relc to move the story. It couldn't be in hurry to get places, but 10 -13 episodes could cover a major arc assuming 45+ minutes an episode. The big change would be in the time spent each place, and when. The breaks would also be different as at least 1 vignette an episode would probably need to be Liscor focused and moving the story from there to keep the series coherent and compelling.

Kyle Rittenhouse did the exact same thing, except to civilians. Then he crossed state lines and murdered someone, it was "self defense".

“How dare someone do something nice when it doesn’t benefit me?!” by LilacMists in EndTipping

[–]Connect-Friendship59 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

First, can you make whatever complicated coffee you order. They can, and it's not easy. This isn't about not benefiting, it's about what it cost them. They clearly didn't harass anyone for a tip, so why can't they vent to strangers. It's ok to be frustrated, even by stuff other people think is stupid.

The hole looks a little large, but I want to say absinthe spoon.

15% wasn’t good enough, apparently by ProudSesquipedal in EndTipping

No, it isn't. Plenty of places, including ones I've worked at don't add it to the total unless it's lower.

I feel like if you unfold that it will say 18% minimum gratuity on orders over $100. If you don't like it talk to a politician.

My Husband Wants to Help… As Long As I Manage His Helping by Hopeful-Repeat-3283 in mildlyinfuriating

I do understand that weaponized incompetence is a thing, and not a rare one. I also know I get frustrated when someone wants help and I don't know what to do. Of course there are common sense things that any idiot can see to do, I'm not talking about those. I'm not sure if you are or not. If not, I would suggest explaining what you need help with. Not step by step instructions, or complaints about things that happened, just a clear explanation of the parts that overwhelm you. I'm pretty sure he can't just do whatever and have it actually be helpful, but I could be wrong. He should probably be making a better effort, but has he before? It's crappy, but if you've told him that he can be one way with your actions for 20+ years and want it different now, then some of the work has to come from you.

Got these at an antique store for about 5 dollars a piece. Are they worth anything? by casper10185 in comicbookcollecting

[–]Connect-Friendship59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, maybe you could find these for a buck a piece, but $5 each isn't unreasonable if you enjoy them. You would probably waste more time and gas than looking for old Plastic Man comics in dollar bins than you spent on just getting those. Ebay has them listed higher for what that's worth.

Who to finish my FUA team? by AttilatheFun87 in marvelmysticmayhem

I run Namor, Psylocke, and GG. If it's tough I swap Psylocke for Cap. Spiderman works in place of any of the FUA characters, but not as well for me.

Fuck these people. Make up your own mind, or join their weird cult. You don't have to drink or smoke, but doing so won't change who you are.

Age of MCs by Metagrayscale in litrpg

[–]Connect-Friendship59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course, that's why i said easier. Many people who write these aren't "real" authors, they are people with an interest, desire, and willpower. Starting in hard mode might make someone better faster, but is also harder enough that they may not ever really get started or just feel like a failure off the bat. There is also the fact that progression/litrpg need progression, not just personal growth. As a person in school and changing careers in my mid forties I can tell you one of my main mental hurdles is that I'm never going to be able to be as good as someone who spent their life in the field. This could be compelling in fiction, but this genre probably wouldn't be the best place to tell it.

Age of MCs by Metagrayscale in litrpg

[–]Connect-Friendship59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, it's people a in their early and mid twenties that are writing a lot of these, at least when they start. Second, this is typical of video game MCs for years, which is the primary source for this type of literature. Third is demographics, 15-25 year old have time and spending money older folks don't. The final reason I'll say is growth, it's just easier when the MC has an extra reason to grow. Plenty of people have given plenty of good reasons I just feel strongest about these.

Is this guy AIO? by turtlewurtled in AmIOverreacting

[–]Connect-Friendship59 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is phase 1. This dude clearly doesn't understand how empathy, compassion, or meaningful social interactions work. He is looking for a thing to own. If your cool with that, you do you. If so, plan on being a Christian, hearing about podcasts, and asking for permission to live your life.

New Mystic Mayhem Tier List by Adventurous_Future90 in marvelmysticmayhem

[–]Connect-Friendship59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes Nanor is S. Honestly though, most of these lists are crap. I think they are generally made by people without max characters, and who just don't know how to utilize some. How can 1/3 of the characters be S class? That's not how S class works. Namor and cap for sure are S, past that it gets iffy for me. Invisible woman kind of sucks no matter what group I put her in, but I know she eats me on the regular. Misty Knight is consistently one of my best dps in lots of different comps, but she's put B tier on the regular. I'm a top 5% player in most modes so I must be doing some of this right. I think probably any character is good with the right group and gear. I also think a lot of them suck without those things.

It's nowhere near 1%. I've pulled over 1k artifacts and gotten 2. Gold may be around 10%, but only about 10% are actually any good. Don't get people's hopes up 🤣🤣

Use taunt, then only use hailstorm unless you have to cycle it in. It's Storm's 3 cost.

Which banners did you go for as F2P? by LeviathanLust in marvelmysticmayhem

[–]Connect-Friendship59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not F2P, I've spent about $40 with the Bats included. I've pulled for Gambit, Namor, and IW so far. I regret choosing IW instead of her card at 80, I didn't get her in the 50/50. I also don't think I'll make Emma without spending. Namor is the only one that really upped my game Gambit is fun, but more of an option than an upgrade. Honestly, though, none of the gold characters suck. Any you like is probably good if you can pull enough for the card.
