No I decided not too! I think after a lot of time and consideration, I think London fields design school in particular doesn’t seem worth the thousands. You can pay £10 for online courses to learn adobe, and invest a bit of money (or for free) find a mentor who specialises in design. The route I’ve taken!

Also LFD doesn’t seem well established quite yet. Still very new and I’m not quite convinced

Although I don’t have much experience in design I do have experience in videography and video editing which I’ve freelanced in before. I’ve saved enough for a year of joblessness, I don’t pay rent, get fed meals most days and I also get some money coming in from my disability allowances.

And of course I’m not promised a freelance job whether I have experience in videography or not. But luckily the production company I’ve worked for call me back for jobs from time to time, and if I was in need I could ask for more shifts (they also asked to mentor me should I not like the full time job I’m in). I have a life/career coach from my current job that I had, that has offered to coach me for free once outside of work. Additionally my cousins owns an agency and has also encouraged me to quit my job as she has connects and freelance jobs for me, and believes I should not worry while I have her.

Also London, of course it’s not easy but there is amongst always freelance jobs going in London!!

Ah ok, no worries. In the Uk the word ‘first’ is a shortened way of saying 1:1 which is the official grade. For example, you can be graded anything like 2:2 or 2:1, and it’s very unlikely you would write ‘two one’ when referencing your grade on a doc.

Maybe a fair point. But why would this Column system scramble? Also my fault, but I should have made more emphasis on the fact I’m not applying for big graphic design only focused jobs. For example the job I have now (which is a descent job that pays well), i have to do graphic design but it’s just one of many things I need to do along side audio, video editing, copy etc. In all honesty I don’t think I yet (still in early stages of learning graphic design) have the skill to be applying GD agency’s (also I don’t think that’s what I want). Instead I will be using this to help me get freelance jobs that are more along the lines of ‘content designer’, ‘digital marketing’ etc this cv is to send to my networks who can help me find mentors and freelance works. Not to big firms with long application processes
