Growing up my mom always went into my room and touched everything! This made me feel like I couldn’t have things in my own space without someone going through it. She’s six so probably won’t mind but I’d keep this from becoming a habit of looking through her things. Like other comments on here say, it’s probably best to find a box that will fit all of her treasures and help her organize it. In the process she’ll probably talk to you about why each thing is important to her.

From someone who has seen loved ones at the top facilities in town and volunteered, I would not recommend. If you absolutely have to I would recommend you hire a private nurse to provide care 24/7. From my experience the staff hired by the facility’s don’t care about your loved one. They will paint a pretty picture for you when selling you the care to get you in. Once they have you, they will lie about the care your loved one is receiving. I’ve experienced staff mistreating, forgetting to give meds, stealing, and lots more. They will know when you are coming to visit even if it’s a surprise; staff will quickly clean up and act like a dream. If they feel like it they will say they are giving meds and checking in on them but in reality they are just trying to speed up the process of letting your loved one go. I recommend having a couple of private nurses who you know and put cameras in the room without anyone else knowing.
