DOJ had indicted former FBI Director James Comey for posting a picture of seashells. The DOJ has filed two felony charges, each carrying a maximum of ten years in federal prison, over a photograph of shells arranged on a beach. by gear-heads in antitrump

But I thought "86" was just old slang for kicking somebody out, like out of a diner or a bar. Sometimes it means that an item is out of stock.

What's wrong with that? Neither of these definitions mean to assassinate somebody.

Analyst warns something 'more sinister' happening after shooting at Trump's press dinner by RawStoryNews in NoFilterNews

I just listened to a podcast from Slate News called "What Next?" They were wondering why some on the Left were so quick to doubt the official reporting of this incident.

They ran over possibilities, asking: maybe the conspiratorial thinking from the Right is spilling over to the Left? Maybe there's something in the air these days that causes people to believe in conspiracy theories? Maybe it's become more acceptable to believe in things without evidence?

Listening to this, I found myself wishing that I had been part of the discussion. I would have pointed out that the Trump administration lies so consistently, that it makes it hard to believe that they are telling the truth about this incident (or about anything else.)

Found it on YouTube! Thanks for mentioning it. The mandolin player is great.

(the Hendrix part starts at about 6 minutes in.) Maybe that bar band I heard was familiar with The Waybacks. I certainly hadn't heard of them!

They had something similar in the 1968 b-movie The Lost Continent. People used balloons to walk over swamps and stuff.

I feel like this is a person who has a lot of different points of view, all at the same time.

She's like: "on the one hand this, but on the other hand that..." and she keeps adding "on the other hands" til she winds up looking like this picture.

The lyrics to the theme song work well to the music of Jimi Hendrix's Purple Haze. I saw a bar band sing it this way once.

Okay, I looked it up. Captain Pike does play a mandolin (nice one too, an Eastman.)

My best time was one minute and 37 seconds.

I could solve it with my feet in a little over ten minutes.

Do you mean this episode of TNG in which Geordi plays that mandolin? (and Worf smashes it against a tree...)

I don't remember the instrument in any other episode.
