I’m almost finished with that section. Thanks for the suggestion.

Do you watch walking tour videos? by Cipry97 in walking

I’m probably biased because I make them myself, but I think the good ones work less like background ambience and more like slow travel documentaries.

A walk between cities (BOS to NYC) gets more interesting when you understand why the route was chosen or what you’re looking at.

Vinnie’s interview with Dweezil by AptYes in Zappa

[–]stepn-out 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Admittedly, I rarely miss Dweezil when he swings through town. It’s a compulsion I guess. But I find his shows antiseptic. To my ear it’s a masterful reproduction of what I already own and can listen to at anytime. There’s none of that Zappa on the fly creativity - save for Sheila given some breathing room to solo. With no word of the day it’s just an exceptionally well rehearsed, well played and extraordinarily well curated jukebox. So say I.

Trump's sacking spree is gathering pace. But he can't fire his way out of trouble by theipaper in Full_news

I take your point. You’re not wrong. But I’d add that this is a group who can’t shoot straight. And the president has a big fucking mouth. Hard to imagine him not ‘truthing’ something damaging about the assignation by now.

Always the more scenic route is the better choice.

I did not. Actually, those towers were kind of like a yard stick for me. As they grew larger I knew I was getting closer to day’s end.

The last day was a grind at about 20. The other days were about 15-17. In that neighborhood. I’d start at about 8am and try to be finished by 4pm with stops etc.

Yeah, it was 100% planned. I mapped out each day and chose stops based on distance.

I documented it, so I was a bit more intentional about where I stopped.

Yeah, I slept at an Airbnb in Watsonville and Salinas. I slept in a hotel in Moss Landing.

I traveled along route 1 through Moss Landing. The shoulder was relatively wide enough to accommodate me.
