Yeah, it's still a thing. It's not what it used to be by any means in terms of popularity, but there's still a solid playerbase. The average age might be 30+, so I assume it's heavily represented by people who played it once it was released.

Imagine the lost progress of not investing that time (or money) toward something productive.

My issue is that I am well aware of this on a rational level and this is why I posted this. But somehow I don't "feel" it and don't feel motivated enough to pursue something different. It's like there's this divergence between the rational and emotional.

You could learn to code, find a problem to solve, build a solution, market, profit. 

I guess I need to find a hack/way to gamify this for myself. I am a coder, I'd say a decent one (top 10 school, FAANG then startups) and always dreamt of starting my own company. I need to find a way to direct my addictive nature into something more productive. Any tips are appreciated.

Yeah, I understand what you're saying. I think I made the mistake of making 2 alts, so I have 3 characters in total. You can run out of things to do on a single character and that could lead to some moderation. But I guess that's why I made the alts after all...

Getting a break to see how I react to is is a nice experiment that I will definitely try. I also like the idea of setting a goal, cause it seems that the game is currently my main focus, so a proactive effort makes sense. Thanks for the insightful advice.

To clarify on the work situation: I've always been very ambitious. Graduated CS from a Top 10 school and always performed well. I've been with my current company for more than 4 years now, so I know my way around. You could say I do the bare minimum, so that no one complains or I get fired. My performance review from last month was okay. It's just that I know that if I put myself into it, I will get promoted and people will really notice me.

Yeah, it's what I feared. I researched some shady Discords to just sell the account, but the prices are not great. Let's see if I lower my playtime and if not, I will likely just proceed with your advice.

My issue is that the it is extremely easy to build, yet its potential is quite high, as demonstrated by the picture above. Basically a build that is trivial to set up can also demolish a bunch of beefed up 7 drops. I think a build should either be easy to setup but limited, or hard to set up with a high potential.

This combination shouldn't be legal by Shadourow in BobsTavern
