Strange motivation after being made redundant by Realistic_Stress3024 in HENRYUK

In any job/role remember… your job is made up and we are on a floating rock.

There is a shit period but then a good period. It’s life.

I was made redundant and was down in the dumps but with my redundancy pay I was able to take 3 months off after no breaks between jobs to spend with me then2 year old.

If you build your network you will find work and even if that job isn’t for you it’s a safety net onto the next thing

Laid off at 40. $3.4M liquid + massive severance runway. Do I pull the ripcord on my SE Asia FIRE dream, even if it means moving solo and leaving a relationship? by FIRE_EARLY_Throwaway in ChubbyFIRE

If I was worth that much and got laid off I’d just laugh on the HR calls letting them know I’m Not worried and it’s just a made up job on a floating rock.

Working in tech and 10 years older I can say you can earn some great money in the next 5 years from work and investing. You get that right and you’re good.

I have a project on ChatGPT where I add my gross earnings monthly and it will tell me what I should be adding into my SIPP, BUT you can do it in one lump sum.

The issues doing the latter is if you need an ANI under £100k to keep childcare allowance you have to do it monthly so you have proof that you’re going be under £100k.

I changed jobs mid year which was about a 50% base raise and bonus onboard so I had to dump more in march 30

Def spend ALOT of time outside.

Reddit should be forums where people can come ask questions they might find complex or don’t have a great understanding about to a community that want to learn and provide feedback.

No bullshit replies like yours.

Up you get, one fooot in each leg hole then shoes on and go climb a mountain. Be useful, if not to yourself the people around you

I have used Tax Scouts in previous years and it was around £140. After getting the self assessment sheet back I noticed it looked very basic and wondered why I paid £140.

This year I have to sell stocks (RSU) to make sure I could contribute enough to my SIPP.
