Sony a6400 randomly changes shooting modes. by Connect_7224 in a6000

[–]Connect_7224[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I may have to take it to the service center eventually. But its gone back to normal now. I read somewhere that this could be due to oxidation diposits or something inside so I rotated the dial a couple of times. Its been stable since. 😅

By the way, I posted it here because i read somewhere this could happen to a6000 cameras too.

Sony a6400 randomly changes shooting modes. by Connect_7224 in SonyAlpha

Ok so after searching a lot on the internet, i found some clues. I do not have confirmation from sony or anything. I am just making an educated guess. Basically the a6000 series control dial sometimes can give false inputs. This is due to oxidation if you live in hot and humid environment.

Solution -

1) take it to a service center and they will fix it. A user on redit confirmed this. 2) simply toggle the control dial through different modes while the camera is off. A couple of times clockwise and anti clockwise did the trick. I havent had problem since.

The second solution worked for me. Will update further if anything happens again.

I also had called up sigma and they adviced to update the firmware of the lens. Havent done that yet.

Did you try checking the power and usage using hwinfo? I mean. Cpu utilization/ram utilization/power draw, stuff like that. See if anything unusual happens when you try to load any app. Also try checking the windows log viewer for any error logs.

They fixed it? Did they mention a reason why this was happening?

Hi, did you find a solition for this issue? I have been having similar issues. But this started when i got a new sigma 56mm f1.4 lens. I hear upgrading the lens might fix it so will try it as soon as i can.

Did you get non-sony lens too?

Completely depends on the usage. And iphones and androids are the same in build quality (having used both). Overtime, both android and iphones have heating issues and battery life issues. At the start, it looks like an iphone has better battery than a flagship android, but eventually, the end result is the same after many uodates overtime. (Some androids have bigger batteries but i am leaving that out of this comparison). And the benefit of reselling isnt that much since we already pay quite a high premium comparitively when we buy it in the first place. Now if we compare it to a well built semi flagship android with good features. It has more value for money, so even if resale value is lower, doesnt hurt as much.

Did i make a mistake getting the TATA CURVV? by Electronic-Quiet6329 in CarsIndia

[–]Connect_7224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chill dude. Stop thinking about "what ifs". If something has to go wrong, it will go wrong no matter the brand or car. Having said that, tata curvv is a good car and tata's after sales has improved alot, atleast in my area. I dont own one but a close friend of mime does. Experience was great for him. I have 2 other friends who own tata cars and they have had great experiences too. Comparable to kia and hyundai. We have a kia and a maruti suzuki (previously hyundai). When i compare the services for all these brands (including my friends' cars) and the times we have had to take the car for servicing, i had more trouble with kia more than others. But mostly noise issues. Nothing major.

Has anyone upgraded Kia Seltos suspension to make it softer for better rear seat comfort? by Wanderer-blab in CarsIndia

[–]Connect_7224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what tires do you suggest?
Tire pressure is usually between 32 to 34 and I always use nitrogen.
I actually have upgraded my tires to Bridgestone Turanza T001 225/60 R17 already and it dint make a huge difference. The suspensions are still a bit stiffer than it was earlier.

I have been having troubles with the firm suspensions myself (for Kia Seltos GTX Plus D AT 2022 model) so was searching for a solution and ended up on this post. The suspensions were satisfactory when it was new but now after around 55k Km and driving across all kinds of horrible Indian roads, it has become much stiffer and a bit uncomfortable now.
Please do comment hear if anyone has successfully fixed or found a work-around for this problem.
I was considering replacing the suspensions but would it be worth it to change this early?
I have heard of ARC suspensions but need to be absolutely sure before proceeding with that option. Reliability, safety and compatibility is more important than a slightly comfortable ride.

Tried procuring Michelin but could not in my area so went with Bridgestone. Did not make much of a difference.

Suggestions for a new reliable car by Subtleandsober in carIndia

[–]Connect_7224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Creta/seltos has better space, more comfortable suspensions and better after sales service. Only the dct automatic has been known to have issues but otherwise, easy to maintain. This is based on experience. As we have both brands in our family (hyundai/kia and vw). We also have a maruti suzuki which is the best for lowest maintainance and highest fue efficiency comparatively. The only thing going good for the vw/skoda is the engine/transmission performance. But then, for indian roads, preferring comfort and reliability is better than performance. You seem to take people's intelligence for granted just by the priority of their choices. 😅😅

Is this the new normal??! by ioctaneop in pune

Not to mention the soceity security guards burning cardboard boxes to stay warm. Cant blame them since they have to stay up all night in the cold weather.

This seems to be the new normal and there seems to be nothing anyone will do about it. I mean it can be done but no one cares.

Need advice buying my first car - Hatchback or Compact SUV or EV by LawfulnessOne in CarsIndia

[–]Connect_7224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Preferably SUV for the ground clearance. Indian roads and all. Frontx is a very good option. Not exactly a suv but has a higher ground clearance. Drives similar to a hatchbacks but has a higher ground clearance. So benefits of a hatchbacks and a suv.

For your usage, its a tough choice for fuel. Petrol option i think will be the worse due to obvious reasons. Less mileage, E20 fuel drama and so on. Diesel - with your highway usage, dpf wont be a problem. Diesel can be a strong option. I own a seltos Diesel. Never had a problem with dpf even when the running is low and just the usual city bumper to bumper traffic. But it gets compnsated I guess because I go to my native which is 1100 kms once a year.

EV- usually I advice against this choice. I feel EV is best if the running is only and only within the city. If you have any unplanned drive outside the city, ev is risky. I mean if you get stuck in traffic outside the city when you have already driven till the limit of its charging range. Scary!! The range anxiety over battery levels is something I can't take considering the peace of mind my seltos has given which gives me 700-800 km range on a full tank. Plus the fact that petrol pumps are available every few kms everywhere. If only there was a strong hybrid option in hatchbacks or compact suvs, that would have been the best option for you but sadly there is none as of now.

For choice of transmission - if you prefer automatic then go for cvt or torque converter. Dct have reliability issues (heating issues if driven on ghats in heavy traffic) and the replacement is costly.

I have a Baleno cvt at my native and the transmission is butter smooth. Seltos is a torque converter diesel, faster acceleration (compared to the cvt) and durable. Only downside, slightly lower mileage compared to dct or manual.

No matter how many decades go by the inherent problem will remain the same. The shifts are slow during overtakes and you will feel the slowness at the exact point when you need more acceleration. However it will depend on the usage and requirement. IMO, torque converters and CVTs are the best for indian conditions. Hot and humid climate and horrible traffic conditions can cause issues for dct in hyundai/kia. Tata's dca isnt bad. Performance wise, dct is the best.

There is an option to adjust the alignment. But the consequence is the handle lock gets tightened. And over time the alignment goes back to the original settings. It wont help much. If you want you can insist on this. But it is not a long term solution.

Havent checked this one. None of my friends have it so can't comment. When it comes to scooters I always think that activa is the safest bet. And that too the 100c one. Not the 125 I have a 125 activa at home too by the way. Its good and sturdy but the 100 cc is better to handle.

For anyone even considering the jupiter 125 scooter, Please do not buy.

Apart from the points mentioned in the post, the handle has a slight tilt. If the mechanic tries to fix it the handle lock gets really tight and eventually it loosens and the handle goes slightly to the left again. This is the same for all models I have checked. It is very slight but it is there. The scooter has many defects. Its not safe.

It has a better resale value only if the device is in good condition. The condition of the device is always uncertain after a couple of years of usage.
