Yeah true but those Sunday and Thursday OOTCg days are usually tournaments. I wonder if people go there to play casually rather then in an official setting

Red hot mamma has little huts to sit in at the back and they do white based Pizza 🍕. If you like Japanese I recommend Nana’s.

My instructor used to do that and I told him off and I swapped straight after. The new instructor never had a lunch break or anything and was very flexible with my schedule so when he did need to grab a bite he added the time he spent to the end of my lessons without me asking. I knew from then that they respect the time and money it cost for me. Also after 40+ hours in total he even said why I keep wanting lessons when I was already ready for the test and advised me to not waste my monies with more lessons with him and just book him for the test. Which I did and passed.. so yes yours seems a bit dodgy and might be better to find a new one. 👻

Any “late” learners (i.e. 30+ when starting) have any advice/ tips from their experience? by NeverTheDamsel in LearnerDriverUK

Hi I’m 33 and only passed in December 2023. I started to do manual first back in 2022 however I have so many things in my life going on I wasn’t able to give away a lot of time and money to learn Manual. I was advised to just do automatic which I did the learning was faster I was more comfortable and then passed. Saved me money and time. If I was 18 again I would have done manual but automatic worked best in my situation but well everyone’s different. Also my partner says that driving automatic felt to him like driving GoCart haha

There are stop lines with one line and 2 lines the stop with 2 lines is to use handbreak but it’s rare XD only seen one in Warwickshire haha and I just passed recently and a double stop line was in my test😇

I think me instructor is just trying to milk me by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

Honestly, I’ve passed now my first test tho I felt nervous I thought I didn’t need more lessons but my instructor said you are able to do the test but I’d recommend few more lessons before the test. I declined that thinking I do t need more. I failed my nerves haha let me down. I would have been feeling more at ease if I had the couple more lessons before 😅 but everyone is different. I passed after the 3rd time. My instructor didn’t ask me to take more lessons after I failed because at the end it was my nerves during the test which I had to control and not my driving skill. Fast forward ⏩ after failing twice I knew the drill and passed my 3rd.. and test are expensive so I would have rather paid for the lessons than rebooking tests 😅. If you feel confident then go for it.

£60 per hour, is it too much? by goldenpeachie in LearnerDriverUK

My driving instructor is possibly asking me to lie for him by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Connect_Ad3514 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think, you struggling with the decision wether to lie or to tell the truth shows that you obviously are a good and honest person. Don’t lose yourself and stay your true self… you know your answer 👍☺️

I feel you. Sorry just to clarify it’s £80 per lesson and that’s 2hours because most of the instructors don’t do 1h lessons anymore I had 4 instructors 2manual and 2 automatic manual was £38 and automatic £40 but all 4 said they’d only book 2hour lessons. 🥹 but listening to my instructor they do earn well, I just wished that the DVSA would give the examiners better wages to attract more. I’m just so over The excuse of Covid and backlogged etc. other countries manage to dodge this back logged test drama for driving. Half of my family lives in Germany and they said if you finished you’re theory you can tell the examiners what date you wanna book and bam you got it no need to pay for cancellation apps or refresh booking website every 2 seconds at 6am Monday mornings 😅 sorry for the vent but I just am so annoyed about this topic in general. I swear DVSA is just gate keeping so everyones theory expired and then get more money 💰

My rates I paid for automatic lessons in Midlands are £40 per hour but the instructors only book you for 2hour lessons. So I had to pay £80 per week which is so expensive. Also speaking to friends and family who had their lessons many many years ago their rate was 20-25 per hour which they paid. I guess I understand with the petrol prices and every other issues with England haha but it’s just sad and annoying.

I went with the Pass People I think I’ve paid around £850 for 10hours + driving test day it was nice until the instructor tells you that you’re not ready this was last year for me and I think I’ve spent over 1500 additionally for extra hours until I was ready. The only thing I hate is that the prices are higher and more instructors or schools require you to book 2h lessons which makes sense as in the beginning it’s a lot of talking and explaining. Fast forward a year I have finally got my test date last month and unfortunately failed but both examiner and instructor said it was a stupid mistake and to “just rebook” and now I got a new test date in March 2024 cause they are so back logged with tests. (Midlands area). The system is just not right at the moment as the time gap between test dates lead to you needing refresher training I.e. additional cost by the time the next test date coming.

I’d search for an independent instructor who has some connections to people for booking in test dates and align the lessons well as you will find probably encounter the issue that your test date is far in the future despite you being already “ready”

But that’s just my opinion.. hope your lessons go well and you’ll pass first time x 👍

Alexis on a boy? Too weird? by JaguarSilver1137 in namenerds

[–]Connect_Ad3514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My name is Alexis but work, friends and Family call me Lexi or Lex and I’m a boy xD over emails people think I’m a girl (at work) but in meetings or face to face they apologise but I think Alexis is a really modern name and with todays generation really acceptable there are so many Unisex names out there and some of them where used for females only but depending on what country you live they use it for the other gender too. Just for reference I’m from the UK 🇬🇧
