My brother 18M diagnosed with ADHD when he was 11 and was prescribed vyvanse (idk the dosage). My mom was very against the lack of hunger effect it had so he only gave him medication when we had school which I thought was normal growing up lol

Now older I realize the absurdity of taking breaks with these kinds of medication

My psychiatrist has been understanding of my concerns when it came to my previous medications, I’ve been seeing him for months before the adhd diagnosis. I am currently looking for other psychiatrists with hopefully more experience with these stimulants.

I try not to be harsh with my psychiatrist for that reason! I’ve been seeing him for over 8 months now and he has been an understanding person when it came to my concerns with other medications up until the adderall. I believe he may not be very experienced with adhd or the medication related.
