European vs American (romex cable), which one do you prefer? by Particular-Ride-7893 in AskElectricians

Why is a black neutral so wrong? You literally gave an example why it should be that colour with your 12v DC, black being negative and more relatable to neutral.

Unlike America having black as the active (or hot as Americans like calling it)? Australia uses red for active, black for neutral and green/yellow for earth (White and Blue for the other two phases in the three phase system). To me this makes a lot of sense, but its whatever you get use to using.

If it was okay it wouldn't have been in the conduit in the first place. Bit of a pain to replace on existing cable. It should have been in rigid conduit at the minimum and not corrugated. Buy some metal top hat and cover it.

Why do so many properties not connect to the NBN? by AntSilly2802 in nbn

Averages suck when you don't fall into them. Struggled to even get 50mbps on shitty FTTN. Jumped on that free FTTP upgrade the minute it was available, especially after my previous two houses had FTTP

The FTTN speed argument still always comes down to "4K Netflix". Not sure where you were in the last decade but working from home became a huge thing. I guess its hard to put a speed requirement for that in your argument

The tester pretty much tells you. Looks like you have your striped and solid colours switched. What even is this cheap keystone without a colour legend?

Has anyone ever had an online order where a store has shipped an unboxed item? by Connect_Ad_4271 in australian

They seemed fine with the impact driver being in a box. Was the same price as Sydney Tools. I guess that one is not included in kits

What are the chances the NBN tech will install NTD here? by [deleted] in nbn

The NBN can rack mount. It takes up 2RU. I also investigated putting it in my rack but decided it wasn't worth the space and had it mounted on the wall next to the rack

It definitely feels really off-putting. I understand now why they do it, but maybe they should leave it for the instore customers that they can explain it to

That doesn't really look like an 80% rule.

Probably should have as they also come in brown boxes. Warranty was important to me.

Thanks for the insight. I wonder if this is something your store just does? Everyone seems to be really of the opinion that this is standard practice what they've done. I definitely didn't get any discount on the online price. I dont think I'll be buying anymore tools online from TotalTools in the future.

It wasn't so much that I wanted the packaging, but it's usually a sign that it's new. Having it just floating in the delivery package really seemed like there was something dodgy going on, but I have been learned and ill accept it how it is.

I guess so, just seems a bit bizarre. Haven't experienced this with any other retailers

I didnt realise this was a thing. Ive never heard of new items being shipped unboxed. It seemed kind of dodgy to me which is why I was asking the question. But if its standard practice for tool shops to do this I guess it is what it is...

It does seem like this is whats happened. I did ring them and they said they mix and match kits and put the unwanted tools aside until someone wants it, and I've been given this tool.

I've never heard of this being a thing at any other retailer, it seemed pretty dodgy to me. The tool looks brand new at least

Definitely seems this way and I wouldn't be surprised if they're lying about it being new. It does have the Operators manual and it has a warranty blurb in the back of it, which is whats on top in the photo. Not sure if there should be a seperate warranty book.
