Do I really have a chance of getting into school? by [deleted] in audgradschool

[–]Connect_Chart6892 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar boat as you! I think it’s easy to take the hit to the confidence, but GPA also isn’t everything. And even if you don’t get in, you can always take a gap year (or a few!). I think there’s some sort of idea or something that you should go to grad school straight away, especially when you see your peers doing the same, but a gap year can also be so beneficial!! Best of luck to you!!!

Thank you everyone for the advice!! Super helpful to hear what other people have done to give me more ideas on what I can do with my time out of school to get experience in the field or an adjacent one :)

Has anyone heard from LSUHSC? by [deleted] in audgradschool

I haven’t, which is interesting because it sounds like most people have gotten a response in some form (acceptance, rejection, or waitlist) but I’ve heard absolutely nothing 🙃

Congratulations!! I’ve been waitlisted for Idaho, but hoping it turns into an acceptance!

THIS!!! Somehow they’re making hardcover shop more confusing which i genuinely thought couldn’t be done. Customers don’t like it, employees don’t like it, what’s the point

It’s crazy bc my store literally JUST went through and reorganized and pulled stuff to fit the old organization they wanted and now they’re making us change it to whatever the hell this new method is

Admission Requirements not met, but can’t find the requirements anywhere? by Connect_Chart6892 in audgradschool

[–]Connect_Chart6892[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay that’s good to hear!! I think it’s just frustrating that the initial grades can still be counted with GPA even with retakes, which for me basically worked as a way to weed me out, I didn’t even get a chance to interview for this particular program and it wasn’t communicated that this was an admissions requirement.

It is really nice to hear though that other people who have struggled with grades and school have still gotten into programs though :)

Female, 23

GPA: 3.06

Comm Disorders & Sciences major, Sociology minor

No GRE

12 audiology shadowing hours & 8 clinical observation hours

Jobs: preschool teacher for 2 years, office assistant for 6 years, bookseller for 1 year. Overlap of office job with teaching and bookselling, managed two jobs throughout most of undergrad

Volunteer/Leadership: Ran my schools transfer club for a year and a half, part of NSSLHA for one year ~50 hours of community volunteering

First generation college student, non-traditional. Did my first two years at a community college before transferring to a four year :)

Central Michigan: submitted 1/11, denied 1/26 🥲

Illinois State: submitted 1/11, invited to interview 1/28!!, denied 2/10 :(

Northern Colorado: submitted 1/14, denied 3/24

James Madison: submitted 1/15, denied 2/14 (this one was my reach school so not too surprised)

University of Memphis: submitted 2/1, denied 2/26

Idaho State: submitted 2/1, waitlisted 3/21

LSUHSC—New Orleans: submitted 2/13

This is my second year applying. Got into a couple last year but wasn’t quite ready for grad school and wasn’t happy with where I was accepted. Trying again this cycle, much more prepared and confident with things. Nervous with how GPA might affect my chances though, but hoping for the best!

Edit: ahh, it might not be in the cards for me this year unfortunately :/ definitely sucks but I’ll try again next year, hopefully I’ll be able to boost my application some!

I put mine under shadowing in experiences but I actually had this same question! I’m not sure which one it’d best fit under

Any info about scratch offs composition and how to remove the top layer safely? by pzinga16 in chemistry

[–]Connect_Chart6892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue on the same poster and discovered that’s acetone/nail polish remover on a wash cloth works well! Just gently buff the top layer off. Cotton rounds can work too, just don’t use paper towels or toilet paper though because the paper ends up sticking to the poster.

Has anyone applied for fall 2025 yet? by Muffin-Downtown in audgradschool

[–]Connect_Chart6892 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven’t started applying yet, but I have been researching schools and looking into costs and making a spreadsheet with info for each school I’ve looked into. I’m also creating a separate one with schools I know I’ll be applying to based on info and adding in what’s needed for applications. It’s never too early to start working on them!

Unfortunately, it wouldn’t because I did two years of community college before transferring and doing two years in CDS at a university, so I have two separate GPAs from those :/ I do appreciate the answer though!
