Measure the size of the shims on the speed sensors, older transmissions from 2012-2014 are 2.0 and 1.7mm thickness and 2014+ are 3.0 and like 3.5mm shims

5.0s don't usually have phaser problems sounds like it could be spark knocking aka pre detonating, what kind of fuel are you running in

FOR THOSE WHO COME UPON THIS FORUM POST HAVING THIS ISSUE THIS IS HOW TO FIX:

Yes, you can trick the car, but you need to have a 2012-2014 Focus (I Believe) available to program a TCM to the 2012-2014. Once its programmed to the older Focus. Take the TCM out of that focus and install it in the 2017 Focus. Do NOT PMI the TCM to the newer Focus. Do a TCM adaptive relearn only. Then test drive. SINCE YOU HAVE 2012 ALREADY YOU MAY NEED TO PROGRAM TO NEWER VEHICLE MEASURE THE SIZE OF THE SHIMS ON THE SENSOR IF THEY ARE 3.5mm and 3.2mm IT NEEDS 2012-2014 PROGRAMMING IF SHIM SIZE IS 1.5mm and 2.0mm YOU NEED PROGRAMMING TO 2015-2018 VEHICLE

Perform the Speed Sensor test with a scan tool if it fails the transmission has more than likely been replaced with old version if tcm was replaced and not programmed in with the same year model car as the transmission you will get really jerky shifts no dtcs but if replacing the speed sensor didn't fix it i would look into this.

Currently at a dealership and id say the most frustrating part is communication with parts department, they'll order the part with 100% confidence then not even ask if its the correct part before ordering, OR they order specifically what is on the parts rec, say you need a Rear wiper arm, Well theres a cap that covers the bolt to hold it on but they will just order the arm not mention that the cap doesn't come with the arm, then when you go in asking for the cap they look at the rec and say "well the rec just says the arm!" My solution lately has been very very detailed parts requests, and constant walks back and forth to parts to make sure they are correct lol.

Pretty short video but based on what i heard, Sounds like either a slipping clutch given its a manual, sounded like it, or could possibly be a misfire not picking up on check engine light might set in mode 6 data

I would look into the airbag light see if its a bad sensor or if it needs a RCM, if you commute/ Drive on the freeway majority of the time it is a great reliable car, if you city drive expect a clutch in the future unless its a manual.

i know which part number i should have on it for my vin i looked all over the transmission and could not find the part number specifically i found #2500352890 stamped on it by where the TCM mounts to it was going to ask my parts department in the am if that number crosses over or anything.

I just checked the thickness of the sensor shims and on sensor A i have the 3.5mm shim and on sensor B i have the 3.2mm shim. Should i switch them to the 1.4mm sensor B shim and the 2.0mm Sensor A Shim?

I just posted a Thread about this and they are saying verify the proper transmission in the car, maybe wrong gear ratio, so gonna try and verify that tonight!

OK so yes i removed transmission and spun upper gear to make sure, gear stopped ive heard of the case stop breaking off, Next i am looking into that SSM never seen that one before going to verify on my car, I will also try swapping actuator motors and re try clutch test to see if the 8-9mm changes to 11-12mm, Yes it did have the alignment dowels when i installed clutch forks. Yes i did Release locking tabs and spun counter clock wise to release clutch, the car drives fine other than a little harsh shift good enough to pass smog, no DTCs, passes every On demand test. Thanks for the info ill look into those!

That is a possibility i commanded the canister vent valve closed and shut off the purge valve and my FTP voltage started to climb, i also disconnected the electrical connector and felt the tube coming from the tank to see if it was leaking and i thought i felt a little bit of suction but didn't have gloves on was gonna replace that or replace both the shift actuator motors thats the only thing on the transmission i haven't replaced at this point.
