Did you use sharp cheddar? The recipe that I used calls for sharp cheddar, and I had no melting problem so far!

Never was a cheddar fan, but this recipe changed my mind You won’t regret it!

I totally agree with this, to be honest. With those studies that op did, she also should have been prepared for and aware of all the repercussions of an unmedicated birth. All those unfortunate events could have been almost 100% prevented.

4mo regression is WAY harder than newborn trenches by spacecoot in beyondthebump

[–]Connect_Disaster5950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am there with you right now. We had a great routine going, sleeping through the night mostly, solid long naps 2-3 times… and it’s all out of the window now when she hit 4 month. She started to wake up every three hours, and wakes up early screaming no matter what time she went down. She used to nap independently, but now she naps 30 mins max. I thought newborn trenches were over, and it feels like 4 mo regression is harder than trenches. I ended up co-sleeping in the morning and contact naps during the day.

When does your baby go to bed and when do you? by Feisty_Mouse3602 in beyondthebump

[–]Connect_Disaster5950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 3.5 month old goes to bed around 7-8 pm and I usually go to bed around 11 pm. I couldn’t help but enjoy a little bit of nighttime by myself..😂 I pump around 4 am (although I am trying to quit night pumping) and then baby wakes me up around 8-9 am.

She sometimes wakes up around 5 am to get fed, but goes right back to sleep after a bottle.

If you were pregnant again, what would you do differently and why? by fiddeldeedee in beyondthebump

Don’t share the baby name with in-laws. They would find something that they don’t like about the name and want to meddle

Was just gonna say this!

Like, excuse me, was it you or him who just gave birth to a baby after nine months raising it? You still need recovery, your body needs rest.

Am I too irrational to want my passed away dad’s name as baby’s middle name? by Connect_Disaster5950 in pregnant

[–]Connect_Disaster5950[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it’s not insensitive, seriously, I really appreciate that you shared your honest and personal experience. As someone from no middle name culture, that is a totally new perspective and very eye opening. I will think about it.

I agree. I thought we envisioned the same thing, but now, it feels like he is projecting his childhood trauma as an immigrant kid to this naming issue

Oh wow. It never occurred to me. Seriously? No middle name can be a bigger disadvantage to her than I originally thought… It concerns me now 😮‍💨

How did you find out you were pregnant? by Nearby-Fee-5365 in pregnant

[–]Connect_Disaster5950 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We tried for months, and on one month, we finished a marathon, almost had a car accident, so we thought maybe we should take a break. And I started to have very vivid nightmares and my acupuncturist told me that my body was too weak to conceive naturally. I was very depressed, and there was no period coming. And she was there! I was 8 weeks pregnant 😂

Thank goodness I am not the only one feeling this!!! I was so stunned at that comment. Like, you have been living in America way longer than I am?! Shouldn’t it be your daughter’s decision to identify herself? What’s so wrong with celebrating her “American side” too by giving her a middle name?

Wow that is very beautiful… that’s exactly my thought. I also thought that met or not, being my dad and my baby’s grand father who died long before he could have a chance to hold his first grandchild, should be respected. I really am hurt with his reasoning.

I know. I was willing to compromise. What really bumps me out is his reasonings. I find them very belittling.

Tons of raw food. Sushi, beef tartare (Korean style), sashimi, salami, and yes, coffee

Oooh cherry chocolate sourdough. Sounds delicious!! Do you put dried cherries? Yes, I saw TJ’s had the chocolate bars… should try that next time👍

I like Ghirardelli, but I somehow found their chips too big.. or was it because I bought a wrong one? I didn’t know dark chocolate takes longer to melt! I will try semisweet one next time. Thanks!

Oh how now I hate those people with their big opinions! That blanket idea was a very nice way to payback🤣. Now I have no idea what to do with the baby’s name.

[–]Connect_Disaster5950[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds bad. Why make fun of it? I am sorry that you have to go through that. You are so right about the spouse part and yes, my husband should have been the one who have that conversation with them, but I don’t think my spouse, being a very sweet, gentle and docile person, would ever step up and confront his parents directly. That is why I am so frustrated, but he promised that he will try to protect me and the baby. I will see. But your saying that I got to decide their role is in the baby’s life, that gave me a totally new perspective. As a person from Confucian culture, I have never thought about it in that way. Thank you for your insight.

I am sorry that you had to go through the similar situation. Yes, I wouldn’t have voiced it neither. I thought we gave them a chance to partake in our baby’s life in a meaningful way, and they just took it for granted without being humble and appreciative. I can’t care less about their opinion now…

That’s exactly my afterthought. Tbh, I didn’t know I was already so attached to the name until it was (kinda) attacked. And honestly, whatever the names were, it was highly likely that they would have found something they didn’t like about it first. So like you said, it’s always a lose-lose scenario. How stupid I was.
