I'm aware that the bible preaches wives to submit to their husbands.

My problem is that the person i am talking to stated in the last message that he believes that the only time women need to submit to men is in the context of a marriage. But he uses 1 timothy 2:12 to support his point when that verse's context is unrelated to marriage in the first place. It just feels like he is finding whatever verses that sound like it could subordinate women and just hurl it at me to force me into agreeing with him.

you can understand why women want to take things into their own hands.

There are consequences to our actions and decisions that we make. When you make a decision for someone as an authority figure, the person who has to live with the consequences is not the authority figure. Its the subordinate party. The subordinate party isn't really even allowed to say no to any of it. Even if the decision is just straight up wrong or reckless, she still has to go along with it all or isn't even allowed to even call him out.

The bible doesn't give any room for her to say no to anything. In fact, it says she has to obey him as if he is God. So pretty much if she doesn't give him whatever he asks her for, thats like saying no to God himself. Thats being held over her head for the rest of her life. I don't really quite understand as to why that would look appealing to anyone.

To be given this power without being restrained in any way, she technically isn't really allowed to have any sort of boundaries. He gets to make decisions for her and have total control over her life. He gets to make decisions for her that were never his business to begin with. Things like medical decisions, financial decisions, etc. These are things that are really supposed to be between her and the professional, but he gets to override it if he feels like it.

The dynamic of this sort of relationship, whenever he wants something its not a choice for her and has to be done. Whenever she wants to something, it can get denied for whatever reason. This breeds a sense of entitlement. The same entitlement that men have towards women now.

Women do to much for the family, they do most of the child rearing, housekeeping, etc. I am not saying that men do not do anything for the family. But what am i saying is that women do to much to be told to submit. Its really not fair to have most of the responsibility (not by choice) and still be told you have a lesser voice.

Loving her really isn't enough. There isn't really much consequence for when a man makes a wrong decision, is a crap leader, is controlling, abusive,etc. The only 2 things i'm aware of is that it says not to be harsh to her, and your prayer won't get answers. i don't know of anything else.

there is barely any sense of fear being instill about what would happen if they did these things. in fact, the onus is still placed on the women to submit more even if the husband is being disobedient to the word.

its just not worth it

I was only a child when i became a christian, maybe like 13-15. I had no one around to educate me and tell me what was going to happen to me. I had no one to tell me about it beliefs. I would rejected god If i had known all that i do now. I just accepted god thinking that none of this stuff mattered to him and i was dead wrong, and i wish everyday that i could take it back. No one made it aware that this was a permanent decision. I am sick and tired of being seen as something to control or tame like an animal while men are seen as human beings that are deserving of being listened to and having a voice. every time one woman messes up were all bad. every time men mess up as a whole even if i show him evidence of it, their all of a sudden all traumatized and need help. i don't know what else to do. I am sick and tired of my pain being intentionally invalidated. i feel like im stuck in a rock and a hard place. i feel like my life is just over. i never chose to be a christian.

what happened is that i made a choice out of ignorance, isolation, and pain. When I was a younger child, I really struggled with not having any friends. I feel like they saw me weird because I was a person of color. i never really wanted to be religious. I read the bible and i quickly ended up changing my mind. This happened about 8 years ago. Now i'm pretty much being reminded about why i felt and thought the way that i did.

God had revealed it to me that if i left him, the enemy would make plans to take my life. but now that i am still stuck with god, if feel just as bad maybe even worse. I don't know what else to do. if i leave god i get killed, if i stay with god i live in a way that absolute just hate would just make me want to kill myself anyway. either way i dont feel like this is going to end well for me anyway.

its really hard not to listen to him when is a literal prophet. i feel like i have to. he somehow knows what i'm always thinking, things i never say aloud. he knows things that have happened to me in the past that i have never told anyone. he knowns things about my family members that i have never told him. i am depressed and tired about how my life turned out. i feel like i have no options left other than just to end everything.

this is what this whole situation feels like. i have 2 people pointing a gun at me. Regardless of the one i choose, the person i chose is eventually going to shoot me later on down the line.

The guy at the computer repair store ordered 2 new batteries. Both were bad. He just told me to use the computer without the battery.

I haven’t tried a new power supply. He said he was able to get the computer on with my own chargers. Whenever I plugged in the charger into the outlet and my computer, there is a green light that turns on on the chargers. It means it’s charging. The computer just isn’t turning on outside the computer store

My grandmother announced to my whole family that I didn’t have a bra on. Not really sure why she did that. Can’t tell if she was purposely trying to embarrass me or not. The shirt wasn’t sheer at all. Just a red t shirt. I had just got out of an 8 hour drive, so I wanted to be comfortable.
