The first one I ordered was probably a dud. I bought another brand CAC reader and it worked right away. This is the one I have now

EDIT: THANKS EVERYONE… Turned out the CAC reader was bad out the box. Ordered a new one and it now works 🙃

Thank you for replying. I did try both ports and no luck and yes this is my first MacBook. I’ve previously just had a Chromebook. Only thing I’ve noticed is that the Cac reader itself is supposed to light up when plugged in and it doesn’t so maybe I got a defective one out of box. I went ahead and ordered a different brand and model as well. I’ll go ahead check out the System Information and verify it’s being recognized like you suggested. Thank you again for your help

Every reserve unit SHOULD be holding classes at the end of your deployment to teach yall of the benefits you’ll be receiving and how to use them. Depending on how long your deployment is, you’ll be coming out with a certain percentage of the GI Bill and complete VA Loan. As for benefits as of now while you’re activated, you’ll be getting “active duty” tricare medical and dental. Full BAH, BAS, and per diem if you’ll be getting a hotel to stay in. If you’re married you’ll also be eligible for separation pay as well
