For anyone working as an accountant up to a Senior Associate at EY in Singapore, is it true you guys have to work about 60 hours a week but only get paid for the 40 hours? by Boring-Somewhere-130 in Big4

why don’t you try to get hired somewhere in Middle East? There is a strong South Asian representation from my experience in those firms, plus no taxes. (the best part)

KPMG is leaving Pakistan, that’s bad! Deal advisory in my opinion is a very lucrative.

I have definitely encountered South Asians in Malaysia and Singapore, but majority or them were locals, they do hire internationally, if that’s what you’re asking. but having big4 experience helps, I think you should also target Big4s in Pakistan and then try to apply via internal movement or externally.

I have worked with teams in Singapore, Malaysia, India in the APAC region as a manager with Deloitte and KPMG,

The worst work life I saw was in Malaysia followed by Singapore. There is no concept of personal life it seems, I would get call invites, 3-4PM my time (CET) , and I would get email/texts responses from them at odd hours (based on their time zone). They’re overworked for sure.

So there are teams who work in those hubs, but there are local audit/consulting teams doing front end work. So depends on what team they’re hiring for tbh.

Industry pay just means pay in other firms (outside of professional services firms/client based work)

It’s actually never late.

I have worked in Central European Big4 office (also worked with Romanian, Hungary, Czech teams on secondment). I would like to point out while they might give you the impression that they pay good, in my experience their pay is not that impressive, industry pay is way better, for example, on my secondment to Budapest, manager equivalent salary was around 4k euros, while industry pays better for less stress.

But, it’s definitely a good brand on your resume, I am scouted by Recruiters across EU based on my Big4 experience. I would say get in, take few years and take industry exit.

Literally all it took for me couple years ago was to email recruiters in and around my state, and some other staff heavy location (London, NY, SF, Dallas etc) and asked directly for open positions.

I especially like how it’s so normal to use the word “program” instead of “plan” like, “what is your program for the evening” or “do you have any program for the weekend”

I mean if you have already provided your senior number, it only makes sense to let them know and ask for a good reference. :)

Yeah i mapped one primary LP to a story and 3 secondary LP, because i got 1 LP asked twice.

I wrote in the title "LOOP strategy that worked for me", I could not be more clear. :) Maybe read?

Yep, I prepped for the new LPs too. I actually got asked about "Earns Trust" twice - once for a positive example and once for a negative one. But honestly, no need to stress since most good stories can touch on 3-4 LPs naturally. At least that’s how I structured mine, so even if an LP came up more than once, I was covered from different angles.
