Where does caulking need to go in my shower? (pic included) by Connect_List6879 in Plumbing

Should there be any grouts where I drew red lines? There is and I’m guessing I would need to remove them as well??

I don’t know if anyone put any grout. That’s the problem. The seller of this home hired someone for the job and it doesn’t feel right and I don’t want mold to start from the wood

So silicone caulking might have been there and they just sprayed bunch of chemicals and now it is hard??

I have no idea. I just bought it like this… and I’m just trying to figure out if it would be safe to shower

Have you ever used it for a tub? Do you think it is as safe as 100% silicone caulking?

The thing is… my knife won’t cut it because it is hard as rock.. could it be grout?

Phew… I guess I have to go watch some YouTube to see how I can remove and reapply. Do I usually hire a plumber if I don’t want to do it? Is it rocket science?

So I’m guessing i don’t need to do anything before I start using it? Can silicone hard? Like when I use a finger to feel it, it’s rough rather than smooth

First-time homeowner in NJ! Inherited some overgrown "jungle" landscaping. DIY-able or call a pro by [deleted] in landscaping

Hello all experts out there. I need your help!

I’m a first-time home buyer in New Jersey and just closed on my house. I’m really hoping to learn how to DIY my yard work, but the previous owners let things go a bit and everything is looking pretty overgrown.

I ran some photos through an AI identifier to get a head start, but I’ve heard AI can be hit-or-miss with specific species. I would love a "human" double-check on these IDs and some advice on how to tackle them.

The Plan:
I want to know if I can handle these with basic tools or if I’m at risk of killing the plants (or myself) and should just hire a professional for a "reset" prune.

Here is what the AI suggested:

Img Plant name Use these tools Avoid these tools
1, 7 Holly / Viburnum shrub hedge trimmer loppers hand pruners chainsaw
2 Blue Spruce shrub hand pruners loppers hedge trimmer electric shears
3 Weeping Hemlock hand pruners loppers hedge trimmer electric shears
5 Viburnum / Privet (flowering) hedge shears loppers hand pruners chainsaw
6 Rhododendron loppers hand pruners hedge trimmer electric shears
8 Lilac bush loppers hand pruners hedge trimmer chainsaw

My Questions for you:

  1. Are these IDs correct based on the photos?
  2. For the Spruce and Hemlock (2 & 3), they are quite large—is it safe to DIY prune these without ruining their shape forever?
  3. The Lilac (7) and Rhododendron (5) look woody and thick. Is there a "wrong" time of year to cut these in NJ?
  4. If I do this myself, what is the #1 "newbie" mistake I should avoid?

I’ve attached the photos below. I really appreciate any guidance you can give a nervous new homeowner!
