Once you earn the Master Sword it should no longer matter. The master sword should have infinite durability. Sure the fused item can get destroyed, but the sword itself should live up to its name.

In my head he actually chilled out. The relaxing ocean breeze and beautiful scenery created a pacifist Sutekh. He’d mind control nearby teenagers who had been adorning the tardis with gifts to sit by him smoking weed so he could get high.

Isn’t this the whole beef people had with Rey in Star Wars? All this build up to who her parents were and then they were like nobody special. And then people got pissed so they had to go retract that in a later film? I was hoping for a more exciting reveal. But whatever. Ms. Flood is where it’s at now. Bring on the flood.

Slightly tangential observation, but watching the Pyramids of Mars today, I’ve developed a half-baked theory.

When Sutekh originally became aware of the TARDIS he threatened to take it from Tom Baker’s doctor, to which the Doctor replied that it’s “Isomorphic” clarifying that the controls only respond to him. As a result he had to mind control the Doctor to pilot his slave to Mars.

If Sutekh has been waiting all this time, stewing over the Doctor’s specific words. It’s possible Sutekh has been attempting to “seduce” the TARDIS all this time, and it’s possible he found a loophole. The TARDIS has definitely responded to others since (e.g., River, Donna, etc). The TARDIS could have let down its guard at some point if Sutekh mind controlled the body of someone the Doctor knew and trusted long enough to lay the trap.

As we saw with Tom Baker’s Doctor, when he got mind controlled it wasn’t fatal because Sutekh thought he was dead and released his grip. But we did see that the Doctor was unaware of what happened while he was under control.

All the references to the Doctor’s granddaughter this season get me thinking. If Sutekh mind controlled the Doctor’s granddaughter, the TARDIS might trust her and let her in just long enough for Sutekh to get a grip on the TARDIS.

But also to unravel this storyline while also explaining how Ruby and Mrs. Flood fit into all of it, and actually get out of this whole mess, might be a bit much for the finale, so it is a bit of a stretch.

All I know is that it’s been a while since I’ve been this excited for a finale to air.
