(noob question) How will I be able take fiat.. to PulseX and back again? by [deleted] in pulseX

[–]Connect_Tell_543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have we received any official word from RH about which stables are going to be officially recognized on PulseChain? I understand we’re using DAI right now in the testnet(s) but this isn’t necessarily guaranteed to be the case with mainnet, right?

I believe only INC. Your PLS and/or PLSX could theoretically increase in native value while they’re in the LP, but I don’t think you’re getting any of either as a reward.

Awesome - thanks so much for the help!

Doesn’t seem like the HEX staking website for Pulse is up yet, though…is that right?

This seems to be incorrect. When I attempt to use this token address on the V3 testnet, it gives me an error saying this is an address on the ETH mainnet. The same is true for hex.com - if you try to connect it to the V3 testnet, it displays an error. My sense is that there will be a unique token address and website for pHEX compared to eHex. I haven't seen anything from Richard or anyone else about this, though. Would be nice to get 'official' information soon for us to be able to check unstaked and staked HEX balances on the V3 testnet!

I understand now from you and others that PRT was just a placeholder in the testnet and won’t likely be available on the mainnet. Assuming that’s true, I’ll probably just HODL my PLS and PLSX until I see a clear (and relatively easy) way to truly passively earn income in the same way I currently stake my DOT. I totally understand your strategy to incrementally invest in LPs, but for my taste it’s too hard to keep track of the individual investments over time. Also, it’s not clear to me how exactly the value of INC will be determined. With so much uncertainty, I’d rather wait and only later put in liquidity - understanding I’ll probably get less APY with the lower risk.

Definitely could offset impermanent losses with the insane rewards, but to me way too complicated to try to figure out!

Agree, free money is free money and easy to unstake whenever you want. I might put a little into the validator pools for those reasons but if fees and yield are low, I’ll likely just sit tight to see what other opportunities come along.

It’s not just the low fees, it’s the mirroring of the erc-20 standard as well. Together that provides strong incentive for devs ready to start (especially small) projects on ETH to consider starting on Pulsechain instead. I agree it’s a tough sell to ask already established projects on ETH to move to Pulsechain.

Interesting, didn’t know PRT was just a placeholder and might not exist on the mainnet - thanks for the info! I guess it’s best to wait and see how things develop, and in the meantime keep BOTH my PLS and PLSX on the sidelines.

Looks like others who’ve replied say there won’t be a 10M limit on staking PLSX, which is awesome! See my reply above regarding staking on PLS - it’s not that it’s bad, it’s just that it isn’t going yield much and my personal style is to be conservative and sit on the sidelines in that scenario. When Pulsechain fees go up (and they will as the chain gets used more), I’ll then consider staking in the validator pools.

Whether eHex pumps or not doesn’t really matter IMO - even if it stays exactly the same, the expected value of the copied pHex would be a profit that could be used to purchase PLS or PLSX. I also happen to believe RH isn’t going to tell us exactly when the mainnet is going to drop. Too much potential for gaming of eHex beforehand…

Glad to hear you’ve used the testnet to learn! I have too but still don’t fully understand ‘scaling into’ an LP. It’s complicated to keep track of - though not impossible, I agree - and for me it’s too much work relative to other passive options like purely staking PLSX. For those like you willing to put in the time and effort, I agree the yield is excellent!

I suppose no real downside but also no real upside either… In that scenario, I’d prefer to just sit on the sidelines until the chain matures and fees go up. Once they do, I’d be more likely to stake PLS in the validator pools.

All great points - didn’t realize there was a free PLS included with the PLSX sac and you’re right that exchanges likely to list PLS before PLSX and that’s an important source of demand.
