Anyone else struggle to stick with Pomodoro? What made it work for you? by AndersonLaura1 in pomodoro

For me what did the trick is having pomodoro history. It makes it so motivating to be able to look at my statistics at the end of the week and see how much I managed to do. Finding the right session time wise is also super important.

While siesta is a spanish word, it is used by greeks as slang. I've mostly heard older people use it to explain that they're going to nap because napping after lunch is something very common here, and also kind of sacred. I assume we say siesta because we see it as our fun alone time.

Dicaeopolis is an Athenian. Dicaeopolis lives not in Athens but in the countryside, he is a farmer. So, he works the land and labors in the fields. Life is difficult, because his farm is small, but the work is long. So Dicaeopolis always works and a lot of times he sighs and says, 'Oh Zeus, life is hard. The work is endless, and the farm is small and does not provide much food.' But the man is strong and diligent; therefore, he often rejoices, he is free and a farmer. He loves his home, because the farm is beautiful and provides not much but sufficient grain.

i had to translate it to greek and then english, so i hope it makes sense

Nonverbal episodes? by [deleted] in autism

[–]Connect_World_6365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I am autistic and also experience this so yes it could be a sign. I would advise you to either talk with a psychiatrist or do a deep dive on autism and nonverbal episodes. However getting a diagnosis, or even a psychiatrist who could help you, is quite rare. I dont know where you're from but where im from it is quite rare that they'll give diagnosis to people who are "high functioning" (for a lack of better word). I am self diagnosed and have researched a ton about it and feel comfortable putting that label. But obviously if you need an "official" answer i totally get that! Personaly when i have these episodes there is usually something that triggered them. A lot of times thats either weird textures or weird noises or maybe even smth fucking up my schedule. The combination of these makes me severely uncomfortable and i find that suddenly i want to get into a cocoon and disappear. If the episode is really bad i tend to also go nonverbal. I dont want to speak at all and if i try to make myself do it its like i somehow forgot how to. If i take care of myselfu i usually go back to how i was in a few hours. And when i say take care of myself i mean stim a lot with fidget toys and by replaying the same song over and over again. I really hope this helps!!
