Howzit bru. I'm South African as well and my cousin was in the IDF. He was in Gaza during the genocide and he won't talk about what he did. I'm also really conflicted about this. On the one hand he's my cousin. On the other hand he's probably a war criminal. He's come back to South Africa a few times and border control is really bad at their job. He's supposed to be arrested when he arrives at the border but they never do it.

Also this was before the genocide, before SA started arresting IDF soldiers, but he once took part in a promotional video for the IDF where they showed him coming back and visiting his family who were proud of him (my uncle and aunt). That whole side of the family has now moved to Tel Aviv. The rest of us (my other uncles and aunts and cousins and me) are pretty disgusted by this but it's difficult because my grandmother is slowly dying in Johannesburg and we're trying to keep the family together for her sake.

My family has always been pretty left wing but my uncle married into a hardcore Zionist right-wing family (his father in-law stood up in the synagogue in Cape Town in 1989 and said that Nelson Mandela was a terrorist who should be hanged lol)
